At this point the discussion needs to be had about who the Vikings could get at WR to be WR2 when Addison and Hock are likely out to start the year. This super talented offense becomes JJ and a bunch of no names if things keep going the way they look like they are going, and we do not have the talent at Oline and QB to overcome that lack of talent. On top of that, with the schedule we have, the Vikings need to get off to a good start to remain relevant. So let's take a look at the options:
Michael Thomas had okay numbers for the 10 games he was healthy, putting up more yards per game than KJ ever did as our WR3. With his history he only has about 1-6 good games to give us before he breaks down, but maybe that is all we need?
Hunter Renfrow is a guy who was a 1K receiver when used correctly. The Raiders moved him to be almost exclusively a slot receiver the past two seasons and he struggled a ton.
Adam Theilen showed he can be used effectively as a possession receiver, picking up nearly half of Carolina's passing 1st downs. If the Vikings had draft picks next season, I would feel more comfortable trading a 5th for him.
The pickings at the moment are slim, and I am sure I am missing someone, but of those three I think I take a shot on Thomas. He isn't THAT old, and honestly he wasn't that bad last year. Renfrow might be a good option for a longer term solution, but the fact he hasn't been signed yet might mean it was more than scheme and QB play that was bringing him down.
Those are my choices, who do you all have?
