Downside already huh? Where did you come up with 5 picks for Turner? For as long as I can remember Viking fans have been b*tching about not trading up for better players. I think picks are overrated and who friggin cares about picks when you get a talent like Turner.

KAM get hammered on every trade, and every GM knows he will cave. The Turner trade was two trades, so he got hammered twice.

To spout a cliche, he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.  If he trades up they complain we needed the picks more.  If he keeps the picks and drafts with them they'll complain he took the wrong guys.  It's about the complaining.

Personally I don't give a sh*t since I think the trade-ups got us good players.   And all these years of mediocrity haven't improved my life, hell, somehow they've landed me here in this purple swamp where not only do I feel bad about the team but I have to listen to the likes of Reignman gripe about it year-round.

I watched Ricky for years and KAM in year one trading back and we mostly got jack sh*t for it.   Following the analytical always trade back model is great if you can actually convert that extra capital into guys who play well.   KAM has clearly come to the point where taking a bold shot to, in the long run, keep his job is more important than pleasing whoever is b*tching at this moment in/on social media.  Which is to say, about a million guys at any given time. 

To spout another cliche, you can't please all of the people all of the time.  KAM might as well swing big and try to keep himself in that g.m. chair for 10 more years, versus keeping a bunch of draft nerds and analytics know-it-alls happy until it gets him fired.
