as it been revealed if the Vikings filed a formal complaint about the tampering or did the league take the initiative?
So it doesn't appear that their investigation/review was regarding any specific complaint - either filed by Minnesota or self-reported by Atlanta (as was the case last year when Arizona self-reported their violation with tampering with Jonathan Gannon) - which does cast doubt whether Minnesota would ultimately receive any compensation.
Several headlines across the 'Net this morning read that the NFL is ready to "drop the hammer" on the Falcons, and if that's true - that the punishment is likely to be pretty "severe" and moreso than the what Miami was punished for tampering with Brady - then I guess it's possible they could work out some sort of deal with Minnesota that would satisfy the NFL to avoid "the hammer".
