Minnesota made the move to move up and I don’t see any other position they would want or expect in the top 5. They didn't get pick 23 to set at 11 and 23. I just don't see them thinking an Edge CB or OT is worth more then a QB. I just don't see it. The only reason I say Harrison is because he's been graded by almost everyone as the actual top rated prospect of all positions.

Since they have connections with Maye in house I don't think they will be as visibly interested as they will with JJ. I think they make the call based on what they see from JJ and go from there.

At this point I think they'd have to call for protection if they don't go QB. Most the fan base wants that.

You are 100% correct on the fans desires. News today broke that Arizona is staying put at 4 and that makes sense. Of course that could change. I think LAC will take WR2 at 5 and then there is Tennessee. They need Tackle help but they could move back as far as 14 and still grab a good tackle. NYG need a WR badly and they will take WR3 at 6. Atlanta probably goes Edge and they risk losing the one they want if they trade back. Chicago is in the catbirds seat at 9 and then the Jets don't want a QB. If Tennessee doesn't trade back then JJ is most likely there at 11 IMO.

I'm also confident the Giants will take a WR. They'd like to have McCarthy, but not at the cost of the #6 overall pick in the draft.

They could draft McCarthy and then trade Jones for depth picks plus save money in future years by not having his contract after all the contracted dollars are off the books

I don’t want to reach for a qb again ala ponder. It was very obvious at the time we drafted him and clear as day after he was cut that we reached for ponder. I absolutely think any of Williams, Maye, Daniels and Mccarthy from a talent standpoint all deserve to be top 10 picks. Taking any of those 4 in the top 10 is not a reach in the slightest. If they feel like at that point they need 1 of those 2 remaining guys (should be penix as next choice) then they should trade back from 11 get more picks or stay at 11 take a defender and at 23 see if they can trade back to one of last picks in first round to get a additional pick or two and then take penix assuming he is there. There is another situation where we try to do that and another team leap frogs the Vikings into back part of first round and takes the qb they like there. If that situation we would want to punt on taking a qb at all this draft. That like the worst case situation imo.

Exactly- which if that is the case it makes a very compelling case the the Giants are definitely a team that should be looking to draft a QB and seen as a team that could either trade up ahead of the Vikings or for sure take one if they are on the board at their spot if the Vikings decide to stay at 11 and draft one there. I appreciate you spelling it out.

agreed. If a trade isn't happening then just take Murphy and figure out the qb later. Adding an impact defensive tackle can soften the blow considerably imo. Remember when we missed our pick and everyone made fun of us. Well the result was getting Kevin Williams so it all worked out

Williams was always the target it was just how the trade broke down and they looked like baboons.

There's no way they made the initial trade without a plan at the top with multiple teams. The second part if need be will happen on draft day. 23 is a no man's land pick and there's teams just outside the top 10 that could easily go QB then you have teams with luxury picks that already have a solid team that will pick a QB. Greenbay did it twice for reference.

If they made the trade to 23 in hopes to salvage a bothced QB lottery with a move up from eleven then they already lost. They could have stayed put until draft day and seen what went on theen made moves. I don't believe for a second that's their intention.

While getting talent, if hit correctly at any position will help, nothing comes close to a top tier QB. They could just as easily miss two picks as easily as one. If they don't intend to move up then I'm at a loss for what they've done so far.

You think Nix and Penix are not worthy of pick 11. Many of the best analysts think they are. I think Nix would be a great pick for us at 11.

My sources tell me that both the Cardinals and Chargers are drooling over our picks 11 and 23 and trying to figure out how to beat out the other guy. AZ has the lead because they're at number 4, but the Chargers are preparing to backfill our 2025 draft with a number 2 pick to seal the deal. It's a standoff. AZ is planting seeds all over that the NYG are lusting after pick four, but the Chargers know it's just smoke. Should be fun to watch.
