Regarding the other trade, I'm not opposed to it still. I think that was done in the name of the Vikes buzzword the last few years "Flexibility".
Having that extra first gives them the flexibility to potentially get all the way up to 3, or they can get to 4 or 5 and get a little change back. If everything breaks down and they can't trade up, they still have 11 and 23 and can get two picks in the meat of the first round, or drop back and recoup picks.
They're clearly making getting a QB the number 1 priority, that more than anything is going to drive where the team goes. They get it right and it can set the franchise up as a contender, they fail and they're screwed.
Historically to move up you have to severely overpay. Washington gave 3-1’s and a 2 to move up from 6 to 2 in a year with much less pressure to move up for a QB.
