McCarthy or Multiple?

You can't block everyone you disagree with. That's how you turn into FSU.

I thought we were just talking about a silly game where everyone involved makes way too much money.
Make a stupid trade giving up way too much draft capital for "our guy" who is going to lead us to the promised land? Are you certain we haven't done this before?

X has nothing to do with McCarthy rising up mock draft boards. Nothing.

What happened was actual Insiders like Pelissero, Schrager, Rappaport, Jeremiah, Graziano, Schefter, Trapasso and at least a dozen more started hearing from their connections that GMs were much, much higher on McCarthy.

That caused guys like Sikkema, Rogers, Brooks, the Underdog Fantasy guys, etc all took that information and started projecting hclick bait.

The betting sites like Underdog or the one Thor Nystom works for don't throw sh*t at the wall for clickbait. Their jobs literally depend on offering advice that works often enough to keep people betting. And they believe JJ is going in the Top 10.

And Kwesi isn't making the decision in a vacuum. He's got a Head Coach that used to be an NFL Quarterback. Who also used to help College QBs get ready for the Draft before he got into coaching. So he knows exactly what these kids have been programmed to say in interviews.

And O'Connell has been studying QBs for years. Even when Teams he was working for didn't need one. Kevin wanted to hone his ability to identify future Franchise QBs so that he'd be prepared for this very moment. Studying where he was right but also learning from where he was wrong.

The QB Coach was also a former NFL QB. Who just so happened to have been the QB Coach for Drake Maye. Whom is target #1. But they are prepared for Washington taking him at #2 so they've been doing their due diligence on JJ. And you have to believe they've already liked what they've seen or Kwesi doesn't make that trade with Houston.

I'd love for the picks to go IDL (Murphy/Newton) and IOL (JPJ/Barton). You hit on those positions and the Roster is pretty set other than CB1, which they can overpay for in Free Agency next year. But there's no guarantee those Players actually hit. It's a 50/50 proposition. Look at all the 1st Round busts from '22 besides Cine.

The Minnesota Vikings haven't had a guy like Kevin O'Connell before. He may very well make the wrong evaluation. Or the kid he picks may not work out for circumstances beyond his control. But I'd much rather have a guy like him, working with an analytically driven GM like Kwesi, making this decision than Mike Tice, Brad Childress, Leslie Frazier or Mike Zimmer paired with Rick Spielman selecting.

I think their evaluation started 2 years ago. Don't think they didn't understand they would have to pay a premium to get the service of more than one of these QBs in this class. They're not trying to get a stop gap. This is their future and I think they both understand this.(KAM & KOC)that is. I think they gave the owners what they asked of them for 2 years. I don't think there's any real fast risers in the top 4.

I feel they gave it the shot the owners wanted and it paved the way to move forward in a different direction. I understand they could have just mailed it all in and sucked it up badly. I don't think the ownership wanted that. I don't think the coaches wanted that either. It shows FA that want to come here they have talent vs sucking hard-core. It also is a positive for fans that want change yet want a real turn around.

They didn't keep the high priced team together to tank and I feel ownership made that call. This is all on KAM and KOC now. Time to see if they sink or swim.
