Actually it is. Most systems are set up for right handed QBs. There's not 1 part that it doesn't effect on offense. It can be done, but it does challenge and change the entire system on offense.
Ask any receiver even the greats like Rice it took him a year to adjust. In the early stage he dropped more balls then any other part of his career. It not only changes the spin also how it comes in as far as trajectory. You have to change your hands and body position to receive the ball. You have to flip your routes and the ball does come at you differently. The roll outs the footwork the center exchange the blocking every aspect had change.
I'll set you up with an experiment. Go outside use a basketball put forward then reverse spin and tell me what you notice for difference. I'm not saying it's impossible I'm saying it will cause a huge learning curve for every position on offense.
I think Tua may be the only lefty or one of only a few in the NFL at this current time.
That’s a red herring. The 49ers transitioned seamlessly from Montana to Young without a blip.
If the QB is good it’s not a concern at all.
Well, I read an article that says otherwise. Jerry Rice was the interview and said it took him a full season before he felt comfortable.
A side not Young was changed to S for a year at BYU because the coach didn't want to change his sytem.
Another side note Chris Simms at Tampa had the ire of one John Gruden that hated lefty QBs. He hated changing everything for them.
