Time for another update:
Changelog:
WR Powell from Below Average to Poor
WR Addison from Average to Below Average
QB Darnold from Poor to Below Average
CB Griffin from Above Average to Average
S Smith from Above Average to Average
S Bynum from Above Average to Average
CB Gilmore from Great to Good
ILB Pace Jr from Good to Above Average
I wasn't expecting to make so many downgrades. Addison's recent inefficiency has caused him to drop into the negatives, which after last year seemed unthinkable. He needs to get his season back on track. Darnold's play ranks 15th among QBs by PFF's metrics... Cousins is at #14!
A bunch of defensive players got knocked down after getting whipped in coverage the past two weeks. I suspect we will see some of them fluctuate back up with the easier part of our schedule coming up. Probably not for Harrison Smith, who has the 2nd lowest grade of his career so far. He looked cooked against the Rams and I will once again note that bringing him back was the wrong move despite making the fans happy. Bynum's numbers resemble his questionable 2022 season under Donatell, as he has been the second most porous in coverage (to Murphy, though he actually has a decent grade). Gilmore predictably declined, not really shocking he isn't in the Great tier at his age. Pace Jr dropping isn't odd as he is more effective as a chess piece rather than the Cashman replacement.
Greenard is close to jumping up to Great but he's not quite there yet. Aaron Jones is actually close to the Elite tier, which is pretty wild as he is nearly 30 years old.
