Million dollar homes are a dime a dozen these days. It is not living in luxury. I've never heard of anything Kirk does as flaunting wealth. He doesn't do much of anything to live any different than the average Joe. Your home may have cost 20% of that, but what could you sell it for now? My home cost $155K 8 years ago. It's valued at $400K now. It's a Townhome. I share a wall with my neighbor. How many people worth over a quarter billion are living in homes they bought for less than a million? How many people worth a quarter of a billion are driving cars/vans valued around $50K? He has the wealth, but chooses to live as if he doesn't. Kirk, by choice, is as ordinary Joe as he could possibly be.

I bought it last year bud. I can't stand Cousins or his fake life, believe whatever you want. He's a snake.

Truth: He was offered a one-year deal from Minnesota. Atlanta offered him four. Is it really that hard to figure out ...?

Fans bashed him relentlessly virtually his entire time in MN, he got beat up behind poor OLs, he gave all he had...all while some just kept repeating over and over that he's just not good enough.

Yes, I'd agree it was time for him to move on. No, I do NOT agree it was just about money. He knew once he renegotiated his contract LAST offseason that his time in MN was coming to an end. He knew they'd plan to draft his replacement this spring. I have NO doubt they had that conversation last year.

The more logical extrapolation of THIS offseason is that they wanted to do a 1 year extension or, at the most, a front loaded 2 year. He didn't want to be a lame duck another year and likely wants to be somewhat assured of starting 2 more years because, as has been said, he wants to play long enough his boys remember him as a starting NFL QB.

However you felt about him as a QB, it is simply disingenuous, petty, and short sighted to view Kirk the man as anything other than the solid conservative family man he's shown at every last turn.

How's that work? The team can't restructure a contract without the player agreeing to it. But the point regardless is that he knew then that this offseason would turn into what it did- a question about whether the team would offer a good enough deal he'd want to stay. In the end, they didn't.

But this is where the tampering factors in...if he didn't 'illegally' know what Atlanta would offer, might he have taken what the Vikings did? We'll never know.

It's not about the dollars, but what the dollars represent (commitment). Atlanta offered more. A lot more. It's all very simple. More money and more commitment. Who says no? No one. Absolutely no one.
