Teddy has to be named the starter after the bye!

The argument is ridiculous. I mean, really. But I'm not surprised. 

Playing in cold weather and against an elite defense are not "excuses".  Those are realities.  Realities that QBs far better than Teddy have succumbed to many times in NFL history.

There are valid reasons to be unexcited about Teddy's progress so far.  This?  Ridiculous.

i would like to say that i like teddy and i root for him. my stomach hurt when he hurt his knee.

the dude does not let the ball go like a pro. his mobility is now also a huge question mark.

bradford did it in his first game as a viking after a week with the team against gb. i had forgotten what it looks like to see a purple qb throw with confidence and accuracy deep and into tight windows.

bradford is toast.

i think keenum will get served by the rams if not this weekend by the skins.

they may have to choose between teddy and sloter before seasons end...and sloter may wind up back there by default.

case could keep steady...i just have mt doubts once the meat of the schedule happens.

Personally, I hope the D can get a couple quick turnovers and the offense get off to a good enough start to give Teddy some garbage time against Washington... I do hope Zimmer will play him in that situation. We need to know what we have... and while I don't have a ton of confidence in Teddy, I do think he can be as good (if not better) than Case.

fair enough... and i agree they are contenders with an average qb, although i don't know quite how to define that. case is average but woefully inconsistent....and i'm open to believing that can change for him here.

bridgewater's injury makes him a total unknown. if there is some way to get him on the field to see what he has without messing up team chemistry, they have to do it IMO. so if there is a lopsided game, put him in. unless they decide it's too risky for health reasons to push it.

i really don't think it's a fair characterization of the situation to exclude sloter from the conversation, the dude is one play away from taking the position. it could happen sunday.

if case gets dinged and they have to choose between teddy before he is ready and sloter...it better be sloter IMO.

Okay, the Sloter being the guy in the playoffs stuff is absolutely ridiculous, hallucinogenic mushroom induced madness.

I would never turn to a QB who has never thrown a pass in the playoffs...look at Connor Cook-a much better prepared and better prospect than Kyle Sloter-who actually got to throw 20 passes against an actual NFL defense before the playoffs-and he got destroyed.

Can Keenum lead us to the playoffs? Despite all the protestations here-all evidence points to yes! We are 6-2 with Case doing the bulk of that, with home games against Chicago, Cincinnati and Los Angeles left-the Vikings will win (at least) 2 of those 3. Washington, Detroit, Carolina, Atlanta and Green Bay on the road-the Vikings should win (at least)2 of those 5. 10-6 at minimum, I think 12-4 is more likely. So, yeah, Case is leading us to the playoffs. Do you think Zimmer will go to Teddy simply because Keenum throws a pick? Or we go down 10-0? Or we go three quarters and only score field goals? I can see all of those things happening-but not Zimmer pulling Case because of it. It would take a three interception half,or a prolonged scoring drought to lead to Bridgewater coming in-and nothing from Keenum has indicated that's likely-so that means garbage time in a blowout win is Bridgewater's only chance, in my opinion.

Does that mean, if we are 12-4, preparing to host Seattle or Dallas I want Case Keenum has my QB in mid-January? No, I hope against hope that Sam Bradford's knee finally heels. Failing that, yes, I ride with Keenum.

He has brought you this far, yet the majority of people seem ready to toss him aside for a QB who has proven-time and time and time again-to be utterly unproductive for a QB at the NFL level. Case Keenum has played 6.5 games thus far (and we will credit him at 5-2, because we won at Chicago with him-not Sam, so that is a .714 clip) is averaging 230 passing yards a game, 7 TDs-3 INTs for an 88.8 rating. Theodore Edmond Bridgewater? He has played 30 games (17-13, .567) and averages 209 yards per game,has a passer rating of 87 and has 28 TDs to 21 INTs. He does not throw ONE(1!)TD a game! Talk all you want about Norv, or AP, or lack of passing in the red zone-less than one TD a game! Tarvaris Jackson threw more than 5 passes in 23 games for the Minnesota Vikings-he threw 21 TDs in those games. That is comparable to Teddy Bridgewater. Matt Cassell played in 12 games as Vikings QB-he threw 14 TDs, that compares favorably to Teddy Bridgewater. Gus Frerotte threw 19 TDs in 14 games in two stints with the Vikings, that compares favorably to Teddy Bridgewater. Christian Ponder played in 38 games-he threw 38 TDs, that compares favorably to Teddy Bridgewater! Would you want any of those QBs instead of Case Keenum? But you would rather have Teddy Bridgewater?

Oh yeah, upside. I forget about the upside. The upside he has never, ever shown for any length of time? The upside he shows before he forgets how much time is left in an 8 point game and throws a game-clinching INT in the endzone? The upside he flashes right before he throws a pass 15 yards out if bounds? The upside before he takes a strip sack he himself says he cannot take UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES? The upside before he throws a left-handed interception?

Yeah, I've seen plenty of Teddy Bridgewater upside. Yes, I saw him throw 4 TDs and run for one against Chicago...in December,2015. I also saw Case Keenum throw for 360 and 3 scores against Tampa Bay...about six weeks ago. People want to talk about how bad Keenum was against Green Bay? He threw for more than 99 yards, and one fewer left-handed interception. No TDs against Detroit or Baltimore? Teddy has 10 games in which he has not produced a passing (he did run for a score in two of them) and has thrown more picks in his career vs Detroit than scores. Teddy does not provide more upside than Case and every mark against Keenum can be returned and then some against Bridgewater.

I have said, numerous times, that they are the same guy-with a slight production edge actually going to Keenum. In boxing, in a draw, the champion retains the title. In this case, in which one guy won a game last in 2016, and the other last won in October? I go with the guy whose been playing and winning. I do not tinker with what is working.
