Nothing wrong with taking into consideration ALL perspectives. YOLO is a fun idea and all, but if you don't hit, it's a never-ending cycle. Missing on a quarterback isn't a death sentence, but when you're trading away several high picks on top of it, it makes it extremely difficult to stay afloat and get back on track. Oftentimes, why bad teams stay bad.
Also, Thor knows what he's talking about. He's not some hot take artist. His thoughts here are completely warranted.
And let's pretend in 2014 say we traded two future 1sts for Teddy. We would have lost out on Waynes and Treadwell. Maybe you and some others here need to look at all perspectives, not just the ones that end up supposedly hurting the team
Hey, man. Wasn't it super fun talking about the 27363526 different ways Kirk hurt the team? How is this different? It's not. People see things differently. It's not Kirk and his contract anymore; it's the potential cost of the QBOTF. Welcome to the new fun!
Also, I think we're talking about different things. By most accounts, a tier-two QB is our realistic target. And, for that, the point here was that there isn't a big enough difference between QB3-QB5 to warrant giving up another first-rounder. That's a fair point, no?
Sure, maybe the Vikings see things differently. Or maybe they're falling in love with a second-tier guy out of necessity. Maybe all the draft "experts" are wrong about the QBs like they usually are. lol. Who knows? That's why they play the games, and we'll all find out soon enough.
But keep in mind: Houston called to initiate the trade. If a third was too much to pay for Sneed, for example, I think flexibility is still the priority here. People are reading too much into EVERYTHING right now because it's that time of year. The possibility of getting a tier-one QB is pretty minimal. Is a tier-two kid worth more than 11 and 23? That's the debate.
