Miami, Andrew Van Ginkel
Van Ginkel is a Flores draft pick, and would work well as a rotational OLB. Ideally he'd replace Wonnum.
Carolina, Brian Burns
I'd entertain signing up Burns after what was a down year, as before that he had been seen as one of the best young pass rushers in the league. And he doesn't have the red flags Davenport did.
Baltimore, Justin Madubuike (13.0 sacks, 23rd)
He'd be a home-run signing but I think the rest of the league is catching on to how good he is. The Ravens may opt to franchise tag him.
If Smith retires, would the Vikings move Metellus into Smith’s role or would they keep him in his present hybrid spot and sign someone else? It might make sense to look for another player because there are a ton of great potential options (some of whom will likely sign back with their team).
I'm open to them adding another safety for competition, but I hope they don't spend a bunch of money on one as it's an easy position to find in the draft and Flores has proven he can coach guys up.
Washington, Kendall Fuller (6th)
Indianapolis, Kenny Moore (17th)
Dallas, Stephon Gilmore (21th)
Houston, Steven Nelson (24th)
Kansas City, L’Jarius Sneed (26th)
Los Angeles, Ahkello Witherspoon (47th)
Las Vegas, Amik Robinson (49th)
Cincinnati, Chidobe Awuzie (51st)
Give me one of these guys over a 1st round CB - we've spent way too much capital on DBs the past two years (over 50% of our capital, actually) to have to spend more. The Vikings need to stop crossing their fingers hoping Evans or Booth will pan out, and go with FA-Murphy-Blackmon as the top 3 CBs.
