Most people who said YES have had something to the effect of " -for 3 #1 picks" or "-for the top pick in the draft" accompanying that. IMO that's a dream.
WRs are just not that rare in the current NFL. Sure, Jefferson may be the best, but if someone is going to pay that kind of price, they have to believe they can't get someone like him. There are a fair number of WRs who can take over a game:
Ja'Marr Chase, CeeDee Lamb, AJ Brown, Garrett Wilson, DK Metcalf, and DJ Moore, and those are just hte ones all still around Jefferson's age. There's a group hitting or nearing 30 like Devante Adams, Tyreek Hill, our old pal Diggs, Cooper Kupp, and Mike Evans. There will be more coming in most drafts, too. Malik Nabers is coming from the LSU WR factory this year and Marvin Harrison Jr. is supposedly the best WR prospect in years. If the Bears decided they want to keep Fields and he just needs a great target, would they trade for Jefferson and his about-to-be-huge contract, or just draft Harrison?
Some people are willing to trade Jefferson because they also think he can be easily replaced - just draft another one! That's essentially admitting he isn't that valuable (because value is about the cost to replace something), but that other teams will be too stupid to realize that.
Phrase the question the way it should be: would you trade Jefferson for a 1st round pick in the teens this year and something like a 2nd next year? Probably a much shorter thread.
I would not say he is easily replaced but he's definitely a top 3 WR and will be for some time. That's worth 3 firsts to a team that is on the cusp. Ask the Patriots if Randy Moss would have been worth 3 firsts
Also who said they actually get 3 firsts. You should know better. That's negotiating. You start high and bargain
