Kirk is more important to winning and losing than Jefferson, but we really need both. Or we could get lucky drafting a rookie who ends up being good. Unlikely, but possible. It will probably take a few years for the rookie to be good.

Why do we want to keep all 3 for 2 years though? We have already seen that we have a ways to go to be a true contender with all 3 of them. This just continues the same old cycle we have seen recently.

Of course the qb will be more important than any other position. JJ is more impactful than maybe all but one other wr though (hill). Kirk isn’t top 5 or even to many top 10 at his position, especially at his age coming off injury. The only reason to keep Kirk is if we legitimately think this is a sb roster which it obviously isn’t. JJ on the other hand is exactly what you want if your plan is to help a young qb. Even if it takes 3 years to truly contend JJ will still be in his prime too. That’s why it makes a lot more sense to keep JJ than it does Kirk right now imo.

JJ my favorite ❤️ player, but to move off Kirk I would listen. I’m playing lol but I will Hunter. If JJ was forcing Kirk to stay though is something that could change my mind. That last part I’m serious about.

I really didn't think we would get to this point... but no, I don't believe the Vikings are making him available. They're intent on extending him and I think they will get it done. This isn't like the Harvin or Diggs situation where one side wanted out (Vikings side in the Harvin trade and Diggs side in his trade), both sides want to get this done.

Though as I stated earlier in this thread, I would consider a trade if another team knocks my socks off... but it has to be a legitimately great deal.

When the thought keeps being brought up plant seeds in minds. The longer they slow poke around the greater it gets. JJ is being patient but how long you think he going to play around? Get the deal done?

Because he getting his money regardless one way or the other. We been doing this a year hurry up.

Why would Kirk stay without JJ? They'd use ammo from a JJ trade to draft Kirk's replacement on top of it. Makes no sense for Kirk to be down with that. If he stays, he wants JJ first and foremost. Also, maybe there is truth to all rumors and a deal with JJ is slightly more likely with Kirk around, too. But I'd be stunned if Kirk agrees to stay around with JJ on the block. No run game AND no JJ? Hock missing games? Kirk isn't stupid. He wants a chance to get over the hump.

Just extend JJ and end this nonsense.

yep! I wouldn’t play with JJ. He the type if he gets mad it’s over. Give that man his bread or do we even like stars. He balled out now time to pay snd here come trade JJ make it stop Funk. The rationale for doing it is to get a franchise QB and depth. If we get the franchise QB literally nobody will lament the loss of JJ.

If a fan bolts the team over one player they really aren’t fans of the team and it’s no loss. Do you think the 90’s Cowboys fans all left when they traded arguably the best back in the league at the time ? I think they got over it.

Man I m from Cowboy country. I literally live on Cowboy parkway by the old facility before they went to the Frisco area.

They the most fair weather fans on earth. If Cowboys sucked they will stop watching football. That’s why they pumped because if they streak on terrible they stop watching. So the league keeps them relevant at least most year competitive. The key is If we good, but if you trade JJ and land a bust you a historically bad GM and will go down as terrible. IMO JJ gives the QB a better chance to succeed. You want to give the QB every chance to succeed and early is key. If the QB becomes a star then we can go to JJ at 28 like it’s the QBs team take less after the guy is established.
