Well, we don't have to worry about O'Connell being Mike Tomlin...
Tomlin has never finished a season below .500 in now his 17th season as a Head Coach...O'Connell secured a sub-.500 record in just his 2nd season as a Head Coach...
Yeah I don't know why this is celebrated, the Steelers have a Marvin Lewis situation on their hands. Tomlin has basically gone 9-8 in 5 of the last 6 seasons and people think it's an accomplishment lol. The 12-4 season was even fraudulent. Jumping out to an 11-0 start before losing 5 of the last 6. The guy hasn't done anything since winning a Super Bowl with Bill Cowhers roster, and he wasted Big Bens entire career.
Let's not forget we similarly got killed 41-17 last year to the Packers on January 1st, with Kirko at 100%.
That's right, Green Bay has blown us out on January 1st and December 31st of 2023.
I think this is the first game I can definitively say we lose even with Cousins at QB.
This Packers offense easily could have put up 40+ if not 47+ if they hadn't let up at the end of the game.
That might be the obvious thing for him to say, but I really don't want to hear that from my QB. You need an alpha at QB. Mullens was a bit dorky thinking he deserved to start, but that's the attitude you need. Hall does strike me as a bit of a beta. He's a little reserved and the lights are too bright for him. Not good signs. His arm is weak and he's still pretty slow at getting through his progressions, and I don't know how much of that is on KOC, but it's not a good sign when your rookie QB doesn't look any better than he did in preseason.
