KO admits the defense is the strength of the team.

I really like KOC and it gives me no joy to lay such sharp criticism on him, whether earned or not. The more I process what I see and hear the more I conclude that the real issue here is ownership....and the braintrust they have that sets everything into motion. They seem to nail everything but that which matters most. And anytime they catch lightning in that sense, they let it slip away somehow. Flores will be next...a legit innovator.


I think getting rid of Spielman will ultimately be the move that pays off the most...but I am skeptical about this current FO cycle.

If I was an owner I would want a former player as my GM...not necessarily a star player, but a guy that had a long career, was respected and experienced all kinds of cultural ups and downs...especially winning. A C.J. Ham type of guy

Well he certainly should commit to him for the next game. But there is a large body of evidence on him already, so he'd have to be a real fool, an even bigger fool than we know he is, to commit to anything but week to week unless Mullens proves he deserves it. We've already seen the result of committing to someone who isn't that great for too long.

I know, to your point earlier, KOC is just recycling things other people have innovated, and not very well. The copycat is usually late to the party, because the league has had time to figure out what you're trying to do. There's plenty of it on tape. It's the innovators who have the most success and Flores has come up with an entirely new scheme from how it sounds.

The quote is around here somewhere, but after I heard KOC/Kirk were struggling against Flores at training camp already, I said if we got more of the same dud offense from KOC this year, I wouldn't hesitate to fire him and promote Flores, and here we are. How can it not be considered if the goal is to win championships? If a player is struggling you bench him, why can't you bench a coach for the same reason? I didn't even take into consideration the complete gutlessness. How can you even be considered an "offensive mind" if you're basically terrified of your own offense? Tell me you're not confident in your own play calling without telling me you're not confident xD. Yeah lets keep relying on the defensive guy to win games for us, but not consider giving him the job. In a way, that makes KOC a moron. He continues to shine a giant spotlight on Flores, in a, "how are we not considering this guy for the job?" sorta way. In a "why did we hire KOC again?" sorta way.

Look how ineffective he is on offense, compared to how effective Flores has been, with less. It just seems like a no-brainer to me when it comes to the championship equation. Screw the freaking culture. We've cultured our way to a disappointing season, so clearly more sunshine and rainbows isn't the answer. Who's to say Flores would have a bad culture anyway? It would probably be a more balanced culture. Some smiles, but also a little discipline. Besides the defense is the only unit playing like it actually wants to win something, and that tells me everything I need to know about the culture. Whatever the defensive leader is doing off the field and in the locker room, lets try that for the whole team. Meanwhile the offense is playing like its coach, scared. I think that's why everyone is dropping and fumbling everything. They're all uptight. A relaxed team doesn't consistently make mistakes like that.

The Wilves definiltey won't do it, and we all know it, for reasons, but more and more are realizing it would be best for the franchise. The problem is, the right people are always the last ones to come to these realizations.
