Are all of you fine with how much has been spent on the Offense only for it to regress? Kirk was having his best season ever and they were still scoring less points.
He's .500 since the hot start. And he's not fixing any single issue that I've mentioned. Still can't run it. Still can't execute screens. Still goes for it on the wrong side of the 50. Still calls plays at or short of the sticks in those moments.
Those points matter long term. Not just while the Roster is being Rebuilt. Even if Kwesi gets it right what has O'Connell shown you as OC or GameDay HC that makes you honestly think he can lead this Team to the promised land?
Was he a terrible coach when they had only 6 total penalties in 2 wins over The Falcons and Saints with a new signal caller? The running game sucks. We have a QB situation. Defense is keeping us in games but I don't believe this is the team he's content with. They chose a slow roll rebuild over tear it all down and start over from day one. So next year I don't want to start in year 3 with one. Give him at least one bad season. They gave Zimmer and Rick two.
If they stayed the coarse and were 10-20 having chosen this route then you could call it acomplete failure. This season started out terrible and we are now .500 team even through the injuries. I think coaching is also about doing stuff like that.
Maybe the problem is he's a better motivator then play caller? I think that's a good argument. I think he's done pretty well with the directives I believe he was given by ownership. Monday was a very bad game. It happens.
Factually inaccurate. Since the New Regine came to town they have turned over more than 50% of the Starters.
That is anything but a slow roll rebuild. It's as aggressive as virtually all of the recent rebuilds around the League.
Fans conflate rebuilding with fire sale. Minnesota had a bunch of aging, over priced Veterans that nobody would have given up anything of significance for. There was no fire sale because they had nothing of value unless they agreed to eat the salaries of the guys getting traded for the remainder of the year.
But it is absolutely a full rebuild happening at a normal rebuilding pace.
