Is there a QB debate?

If you define it that way, then my preference would be to draft a scrambling QB and I'd define both Mahomes and Allan (and a younger Rodgers and Wilson for that matter) as scrambling QBs... and yes, the scrambling types take less hits and since they don't rely on their legs but will use them to get out of a collapsing pocket or punish a defense that leaves a running lane open when the pocket collapses. I'm not sure where Dobbs falls on that, but he certainly did the scramble thing well on Sunday... Given the situation, I'm not losing sleep over it, but if he's consistently putting up 60+ yards a game on the ground, I'd be concerned about that.



did they actually demote him after he won a game? I haven't really paid attention to what was going over there. I assume Murray will be an upgrade over whatever they have going on over there, so whatever tanking plan they have is going to get a bit of a monkey wrench tossed in it... but, to be fair to Dobbs, it's not like he's got a lot of talent around him there. He'll have that here (and he would have had that in Cleveland had he been given a chance to start), so it will be interesting to see what he can do over the next few weeks. I'll probably withhold judgement until after the bye week to be honest. That should give him enough time to learn the offense, plus by then JJ/Darrisaw should return and given him a full complement to work with. Hopefully KOC starts using a bit more of Chandler with Akers out and Mattison doing as poorly as he is doing.

I would absolutely laugh my rear end off though if Dobbs went on a tear and suddenly everyone is talking about how we got our QBOTF for a swap of late round picks, suddenly no one would ever trade with Kwesi again... I would hope we'd still draft someone high to compete with him, but maybe not trade the future away for it.
