Um, no, it does not suck that he will need to play decently to keep his job. If he plays badly (repeatedly) but keeps starting, I will be disappointed in our coaching staff. That said, I know some players (Mattison, Ingram) on this team for whom the bar appears to be that low.

I'll be delighted if Hall proves to be a revelation and shows he can be an effective NFL starting QB. But the odds are against him; there are reasons he was undrafted until round 5. If he was Anthony Richardson or some other rookie QB we had drafted in round 1 or even 2, we would give him a pretty long trial and opportunity to develop and show what we (and everyone) saw in him. But you don't invest as much time in a late pick like Hall.

I hear a lot of people who want to assume Hall can be Brock Purdy if we give him enough time. But I really doubt he is that Coup de Ville hiding at the bottom of a Crackerjack box. If he doesn't surprise us POSITIVELY quickly, we should move on.

Not me. He's a developmental prospect at the hardest position to play in all of sports. Throwing him before he's ready can only r***** his growth.

Honestly, if Mullens wasn't hurt Hall would never start a game this year. O'Connell outright said it's his job to do what's in Hall's best interest in terms of developing him. That's basically telling us he doesn't think rushing him to start in Week 9 is a good thing and tips his hand as to what we can expect him to say after he announces that Dobbs will get all the remaining starts no matter how Hall plays this Sunday.

Asiata carried the ball 20 times that game and McKinnon 18. The game plan was to run the ball. I don't see where the Peterson reference fits in here. It was important to establish the running game to help Bridgewater in his first NFL start.
