There really isn't a stat that says Akers is any better and maybe the title of this thread should be Mattison/Akers vs Chandler.

Two guys with 0 upside versus an explosive RB who might actually help the offense.

Give Akers another 76 carries to match Mattison's total and let's see if that's still at 3.7. I know he isn't that great of a runner, but going by the eye test I think there is more meat on the bone. Also Akers is averaging 7.1 yards a catch compared to Mattison's pathetic 5.2.

But yeah, Chandler needs to be given a much bigger chance.

More carries tend to make YPA go down because the variant is greater on the positive side of the average than the negative. If a RB has 4 bad carries of 0 yards each, they will still have a good YPA if they have one 20 yard run, but the more carries beyond that 20 yard run will lesson the impact it has on the YPA.

That is why it was always laughable whenever people would claim Mattison would somehow improve his YPA the more carries he had.
