I am speculating he was lowballed and based on his performance thus far he was worth Top 5 money.
If his agent WAS asking for top 5 cash there is no doubt nothing has changed in that department....except that the cost has gone up. Hunter has all the leverage. This is a position Kwesi has found himself in multiple times already.
Hunter's likely peaking right now and any contract he commands would be overpaying, IMO.
If you didn't feel he was worth the risk then, why is he all of a sudden worth it now at his age?
His trade value will never be higher from the Vikings standpoint.
I can't imagine many on the team are happy with the way Kwesi "does business"
I clearly said Hunter's Agent may have asked for #1 Edge money. You are assuming Kwesi didn't offer him Top 5 money. Assuming. None of us have any facts at this point. Therefore, my assumption that Hunter wants more than just Top 5 money is every bit as valid as your assumption.
Now that last line is bizarre. Who, exactly, on the Team is not happy with the way Kwesi does business?
But that's not what I said.
I think Kwesi's moves, or lack there of, shows he tries have it both ways most of the time. It is a soft, indecisive, passive aggressive approach. The focus has been cart before the horse for the most part.
I'm not disagreeing with you about Hunter, in general,.... I just think it's laughable to try and extend him now vs trading him. Especially since Cousins is done. Weakness.
