Did you see me make any proclamations? I have no illusions of grandeur when it comes to this team, and I certainly know their limitations. With that said, I don't watch the games because of "what they might be some day", it's an escape and I enjoy the good times as they come.

So many of you, well, a few of you anyway, seem to think that there can be no enjoyment had unless there's some sort of Superbowl guarantee, which is insane. Just because fans live in the moment and enjoy the highs, does NOT mean they don't have higher aspirations than a 1st round playoff exit.

Again, if this team is so hopeless now, why are you even watching them before they actually fit your mold of a viable, championship-caliber team?

To piss and moan at the people who ARE getting some measure of enjoyment out of the games?

Simmer down, lol. Enjoy it I can't stop you. I just keep my expectations low.

Well, the "piss and moan" part might have come across a bit harsh.

And FTR, I wouldn't be surprised if we lost by 20 next weekend, that's where my weekly expectations are. I just happen to enjoy the occasional pleasant surprise.

49ers QB Brock Purdy has entered the league’s concussion protocol.
Purdy allegedly started showing concussion symptom on the plane back from Minneapolis and is now in the league’s concussion protocol. With Purdy entering the protocol so late in the week, it is likely a longshot that he’s able to suit up on Sunday against the Bengals. No NFL player placed into concussion protocol this season has played the same week.

Purdy's play did dip in the 4th quarter, so it seems possible he was playing through a concussion. Darnold likely starts for them next week.

Absolutely, I agree with you. But Reignman is anti paying JJ, Cousins, Hock, or Darrisaw... and you have to keep some of these guys. You won't field a competitive team by letting too many of them go and then lowballing the free agents on the market as he referred too.

I'm not anti-paying Darrisaw. He's the only guy on the list I would pay because I subscribe to the theory that you need to be stout in the trenches to consistently be one of those upper echelon teams that always make deep playoff runs. The playoffs prove it every year, the teams that are tough and can impose their will, are the ones that do well. Meanwhile the Vikings continue to invest in flashy skill position players that are easily bullied and shutdown come playoff time. Who are you going to win with when your $40m/y WR is having a bad day in 15 degree weather in January?
