I think 99% of the entire Chicago Bears fanbase wonders the exact same thing. I do. It makes me crazy-angry.
They did give him DJ Moore, probably the single best upgrade at a skill position this off season for any team.
I assume fans think they should have done more on the Oline and maybe they have a point there, I just wonder how much better the oline would look with a different QB?
D.J. Moore was a great acquisition. He's never been a Pro Bowl WR but he is still a quality WR. Other than him the Bears have nothing at WR. Mooney has been a disappointment, but he is a 5th round draft pick and not expected to be much. Claypool was nothing. E. St Brown is just a bad player. Other than those we have some guys who are more special teams guys who are listed as WRs too. The OL has blown chunks for a lot of years. Pretty much "The Turnstile Boys" most years. QBs here get killed. We have a 5th round draft pick at LT... and he's injured (replaced by another 5th round LT). Jenkins is a decent LG when healthy. He's missed about half his games... he's made of glass. Patrick, a Green Bay backup, was brought in to be C but he's so bad he's been relegated to backup here too now. Whitehair was decent but is clearly needing to retire now... he's been moved to C since Patrick crapped the bed. Nate Davis is average at RG. Wright the rookie will be good, but he's struggling as a rookie and getting beat way too often on pass protection. He will get better with time and some off season work. Our TE, Kmet is not too bad. Not good. But he's not bad either. JAG.
Nothing ever changes on the Bears as far as the offense talent being below average (I'm being kind here... they suck). The WR's (not DJ) have admitted they've been running too many incorrect routes. Claypool admitted he didn't even know the playbook (in his 2nd year here)... LOL, Claypool said on some plays he didn't even know if the play called was a run or a pass play. You can't make this stuff up it's so bad.
