Looks like the Steelers are expected to sign veteran CB Desmond King today (link).
Kevin Fielder of Vikings Wire put together a list of available CB's the Vikings could sign (link) and the list including King, Darius Rush (although he's not a veteran), William Jackson III and Bradley Roby. Flores "might" be somewhat familiar with Jackson III as he was traded to Pittsburgh in Nov 2022, but Flores was only the LB coach there so I'm not sure they would have had too much interaction and besides, Jackson III didn't play a down for the Steelers because he was injured so much, which would just add another injury-riddled question mark to our CB room. I'm not a fan of Robey at this point in his career, either.
If they want a halfway decent vet CB, they may have missed the boat and they may need to pay a higher price via trade, something we have a horrible track record of doing right before the season. Should have tried a little harder for Ronald Darby (signed a 1-yr, $1.7m deal w/ Baltimore with only $500k guaranteed) or Desmond King while he had the chance. We're looking at the likes of 32-year old Bryce Callahan (veteran nickel-only CB) and 34-year old Casey Hayward.
