Hmmmm this one is a thinker. Lots of options.
Hey remember when everybody was excited about Byron Murphy Jr? Dude hasn't even played a snap yet and errbody has already forgotten about him. Addison could probably offer him some tips on how to stay relevant.
The most intriguing has to be what Flores can do with the defense.
But I have to break this down by category.
1st year busts who need to step up and contribute outside of special teams in year 2:
Asamoah
Cine
Booth
Rookies I want to see in preseason:
Hall
McBride
Blackmon
Rookies getting decent snaps in the regular season, hopefully?
Addison
McBride
Blackmon
Yeah I'm pretty much interested in the young cats. The #2 WR battle should be interesting, and figuring out who our corners will be. I just want to see progress. We pretty much already know what we can expect from established starters, but can that IOL get it's crap together? I guess that DL will be interesting too, with or without Hunter. I just realized I don't even know who is playing LB xD. Old man Hicks and? Crap I guess we gotta figure out the entire defense. Too much to keep an eye on, O'Neill's achilles, Tonga becoming a beast in the middle, will Davenport be the first buy low guy that works out for Kwesi, looking forward to Reagor getting cut, could Nailor be a dark horse #2, will we have a new kicker by midseason ... yeah so many questions. LFG!!!
I'm curious to see if KOC takes a step forward too. I wasn't exactly impressed with his play calling last year. Which I'm sorry, just wasn't any better than Baby Nepotism. It was the first year for both so I don't want to hear any rookie excuses. Kubes even had to deal with Zimmer, so what's Kevin's excuse? It started out fine, but man he got really flat as the season went on, and don't even get me started on disappearing for 2 quarters every game.
I just wasn't seeing the creativity that was promised, unless you want to count that 3rd down pass to Cousins . I want to see better adjustments too because he really looked lost a lot of the time. If you can't adapt to how a game is flowing, then you're just not it. Cowboys game anyone? Ok Darrisaw is injured and Kirk is getting steamrolled by Parsons every other play, but maybe we can stop with the 7 step drops? Roll away? Something? Anything? A truly embarrassing coaching performance, making Meathead McCarthy look like a damn genius.
But I get it, when you have the worst screen game in NFL history, your ability to neutralize a deadly pass rush becomes limited. Yeah, WTF was up with the sceen game last year? It all sucked. RB screens, WR screens, TE's ... just awful. Am I the only one who remembers the drive before 4th and 8, when we saw the 2 worst screen plays in NFL history on back to back plays, leading to a 3rd and 12, and the checkdown before the checkdown, that killed a chance to tie the game before it even got started? I better stop now before this turns into a bigger rant xD.
Long story short, maybe Wes needs to take over play calling duty so Kevin can focus more on working on his complex illusion and quieting Kirk's mind, because it didn't exactly look like Kirk's mind was quiet enough in the documentary in quarters 2 thru 3.
