Theo Jackson, S
“Who?” you might be asking. Well, he’s a timely choice. The Titans selected Jackson in the sixth round of the 2022 draft. They then waived him ahead of the season. The Vikings scooped him up, and Thursday night, he played more snaps than any other Minnesota defender. The results were not flashy. But Jackson played under control. He tackled well and reacted quickly in coverage.
The Vikings have a loaded safety room already with Harrison Smith, Cam Bynum and Josh Metellus. Additional depth is essential, though, especially with how creative defensive coordinator Brian Flores likes to get with his safeties.

Ross Blacklock, DT
Among Minnesota’s interior defensive linemen, only Esezi Otomewo played more snaps than Blacklock’s 29 on Thursday. Neither stole the show. Blacklock, specifically, missed two tackles, according to Pro Football Focus.
Similar to Booth, we also saw Blacklock’s stock falling this spring. He has not done enough to alter that line of thinking. Add in the fact that Jonathan Bullard has performed admirably throughout training camp, and it’s hard to see where Blacklock fits.
