Yes I was expecting to hear his name when the Vikings picked, it seemed like he dropped into their laps as a gift.

The other name I kind of expected from the Vikings was Will Levis. How wrong were the "consensus big boards" about him?? "5 QBs in Round One!" was becoming a rallying cry the last couple weeks. Hendon Hooker seemed like a false promotion, but Will Levis seemed worthy of round 1, even if not really Top 5. Is he actually a lesser prospect than Dwayne Haskins??

Definitely a fond memory. But carrying 170 on a 5'6" or 5'7" frame is a bit more solid than Addison's 5'11". Or am I misremembering? I just checked Wikipedia and apparently Leo was 6'2" and 218! Leo Lewis

The more time I have had to think about the Addison pick, I think it is great! If this kid lives up to his potential we are talking about one hell of a duo at WR. Throw in TJ and another developmental/depth WR after KJ leaves next year, and we are talking a top group of skill players in the league. Will set any future rookie/young QB up for massive success with a superstar WR, a great WR2 (if he becomes that), a top flight TE, a top left and right tackle, great play caller in KOC, etc. There are not many, if any, better situations for a new QB in the league. SIGN ME UP!

Now watch Addison become the next Treadwell and I have to eat all these words, but I have faith! Now lets go out and find some good DL players today and tomorrow. Maybe even a flier on a QB too.

I've been looking around to see if any mocks had Levis falling out of the first round, and I've only found one (of the bigger sources) - it was actually Walter of Walterfootball, I usually track closely with his mocks, but he had Levis going at pick #33 to the Texans.

I've got to try to remember for next year, so many of the rumors and draft media are spreading crap around... I'd like to track which sources were the most accurate in their assessments.

As fans, given time, most of us can talk ourselves into liking any draft pick. I'm not saying you'll be wrong here, I've just seen it, and done it myself, far too often.

I used to be one of those guys who couldn't wait for the draft preview magazines to come out in the dark ages before the internet. They were no better in predicting the outcome of the draft, or the eventual success of the players than any of the rest of us idiots. The only thing that separates them from us is they didn't waste $7.99 on those stupid f*cking magazines!

WalterFootball has been a solid source of information this year. Their "Hot Press" and "Stock Watch" sections have been worth keeping tabs on...

...and Charlie Campbell's mock was tied with JABF (winner of the 2023 Purple Pain Draft Predictor Pool), so his information was worth keeping tabs on...

Per The Huddle Report (link), it looks like Brad Spielberger (PFF) and Daniel Jeremiah had Top 10 mocks this year, too.

Oh for sure. I have no idea if he will be good or not. I like the support system he will have in Minnesota to give him the best chance possible to succeed. I like that he is a route runner not just a speed or measurables guy. He isn't a big burner, but he is plenty quick. The only real knock on him is his slight frame/build. Only being in the 175lb range is a bit light, but if he is smart and can bulk up just a little bit more, he will be fine. Could he still fail and be out of the league in 5 years? Yep, sure could. I don't think it will happen, but only time will tell.

I think there's a comp pick calc in here too. We don't pick anything up for AT. But I'm pretty sure we do for Tomlinson. Trying to think if we lose any for our signings though.

And isn't that extra 5th a conditional that can be a 4th?

yeah, we'd have to win a playoff game for it to become a 4th I think I read
