Fair enough. I hadn't realized he had so many muffs. I like what he offered in the preseason game as a receiver and yeah I know, one game, only preseason, but still. I haven't seen much of Powell up close other than last week. I don't even remember the PR TD against us lol. But I feel like I'd rather risk losing Powell to another team's PS than Reagor so far.

I have a fun fact for you that I noticed yesterday - here are our receiving leaders for the 2022 preseason:

Ihmir Smith-Marsette - 121 yards
Trishton Jackson - 71 yards
Zach Davidson - 65 yards
Myron Mitchel - 55 yards
Bisi Johnson - 54 yards

The fact is that none of these guys made the team. Now Bisi was probably going to make it until he blew his ACL. But it goes to show that even though a guy like ISM looked great in the preseason last year, sometimes it doesn't mean squat.

He has all the physical capabilities that is why he was drafted first round. The thing is in the league everyone your playing against are also the best athletes in the world and the best football players in the world. Hard work physically and mentally is what separates ppl in the NFL.

What he did in that Colts game is just inexcusable, especially that late in the season.

Yeah the mistakes in the Colts game were hard to stomach. I don't anticipate Reagor becoming a Pro Bowl talent, but I still think he can be bit of a speed threat as the WR4. But unless he wins the PR job, it does make more sense to cut bait as Danchat projected. Nailor, if he can get healthy, could be just as useful as the 4th WR, if not more.

Most teams don't have average to above average guys on the bench, but it is true we are lacking in proven depth. Quessenberry was pretty highly graded for his play at RT for the Titans, but didn't do so well for the Bills last year, probably explaining why he was axed.

Here's the latest update to the depth chart with Risner added, and a couple tweaks to the defense.

I swapped out the 3CB position for 3S / SCB (slot cornerback) role to better define Metellus' role and how Theo Jackson is his direct backup. Blackmon is barely playing any snaps and is more of a backup to Murphy and Evans rather than Metellus.

Other changes include Tonga now a backup and Bullard starting, and Pace Jr. above Asamoah for the first time.

Risner joins with an Average rating, but that is a combination of him as a pass blocker (Good) and run blocker (Poor). With the rate the Vikings are passing, he will be better than average for the majority of the snaps.

Post Week 4 I will begin to update the ratings, likely seeing Evans and Metellus getting designations for the first time. Hopefully we can see some other developments like Addison jumping Osborn and Tonga getting back into the starting lineup.

They already brought in Quesenberry before Week 1, and Brandel has positional flexibility, and bringing Risner in makes him no longer the top backup at G. They don't need another T...unless that Tackle has "Defensive" in front of it.

I made the first updates today since last year. You can some up the updates as good for iOL and S, bad for WR/HB/CB. Schlottmann has finally played semi-competent football for the first time in his NFL career, while Ingram's run blocking has bumped up his rating. It still doesn't change the fact that he's still a bottomfeeder against the pass and this is a pass-first team.

The defense has a few players balling out (Pace Jr, Bynum, Metellus), while the CBs have suffered and the front seven is spotty. Jones II and Lowry have been the worst of the bunch as Jones has one of the lowest ratings I've seen in Vikings history (28.8), while Lowry likely would have been demoted further if he played more snaps. Tonga would get knocked down but he hasn't played any snaps to begin with.

The safeties and linebackers are thriving under Flores, CBs not so much. Addison's average rating is perplexing but this is PFF we're talking about. He's close to Above Average, but his really bad run blocking grades are bringing down the overall grade.

Dobbs has earned a Poor grade, which isn't horrible for a QB you got for a swap of late picks. Moving Cleveland is a hit to the OL as Risner is just average and Ingram's past couple games have been pretty bad.

Cousins got an update as I switched to using the 2023 NFL to rate against rather than the 2022 season, so as QB play has declined (partly due to injury), Cousins moves to the Great category.

Quessenberry is legitimately one of the best OL backups in the game, as he's held his own at LT and RT for small stints. It's easy to forget that Udoh started the year as the swing tackle. Brandel hasn't started a full 300 snaps at guard, but I figure having over 400 combined at T/G is enough.

Day got a massive boost from the 2023 switch as there are a lot of bad DL accruing snaps, and Day's play is at an acceptable level. Funny how even a guy like him on the practice squad is better than Dean Lowry.

Pace Jr being Great as a rookie UDFA is kinda mind-blowing... we knew he was a great UDFA pickup, but not this good. With Hicks back soon, it'll be interesting to see if Flores plays him 100% of the time (IMO Pace needs to be out there at least 75% of the time, having him off the field for 50%+ of the snaps isn't a good idea).

PFF is in love with Mekhi Blackmon but I'm not seeing it. Yes, he's had a few stellar games so far, but he's made several rookie mistakes and in the couple games he had to play 100% of the time he didn't hold up. He has plenty of upside, but Great is overselling him. He'd be starting over Murphy if he was that good.
