Not every player that gets a Combine invite will be working out, either because they will choose not to, or due to injury. I really wish the NFL would then invite some "snubs" to do workouts in their place because it could really help their Draft stock.
Here's a list of prospects that won't be working out at the 2023 Combine:
- Jalen Carter, DT, Georgia: declared a couple days ago he wouldn't work out but would do interviews; 30 min before he was set to go to the podium during media day for DL/LB's, he left because a warrant was issued for his arrest in Georgia. It remains to be seen if he'll be available for Georgia's Pro Day on 3/15.
- Bryce Young, QB, Alabama: he'll weigh-in and do some drills but he won't throw
- Hendon Hooker, QB, Tennessee: still recovering from torn ACL
- Dalton Kincaid, TE, Utah: still suffering from a late-season back injury
- Travis Dye, RB, USC: still recovering from broken leg
- Tyree Wilson, EDGE, Texas Tech: still recovering from broken foot suffered in November
- DeWayne McBride, RB, UAB: recovering from hamstring injury suffered during training
What are your thoughts on Hooker. He is the wildcard of this class. Is he worth trading up into the 2nd for?
