Ok how about this, its completely doable and not just wishful thinking. (meh on Joey Porter, hes a slower version of Xavier Rhodes with a lot of penalties and he is a tackler like Patrick Peterson, not for me. Hes an improvement over Peterson but no shutdown corner.)

Trade back and collect a very late first rounder to top three second and pick up an extra second early in the round. (Doable.)

1st) Kalija Cancey who could be there.
2nd) take Siaka Ika second. ( a 350 pound 6 foot 4 guy who rushes the passer) Now Ika is not the best against the run. Teach him how to anchor and close the gaps. Hes Pat Williams if he gets better and a Pat that can rush the passer.)

Now...

You can keep Daniel Hunter You have serious pass rush in the middle and at a minimum disruption. I mean serious pass rush, this kid Cancey is a phenom. And Ika eats up space in the backfield with ease.) This plays to Daniel's strengths. (Daniel likes his money and that could be a bit of a problem. If he is impossible on the money front trade him for a second and a fourth and get more corners and edge guys, it could also net you Cambell out of Iowa in the second round.) Doable.

Now you have solved half the problem. Trade something to get a pick to get LB Cambell out of Iowa. (doable) Pair him with Asmoah (perfect) and find a capable free agent for the third linebacker.

Now you have 1/3 of a problem left, the defensive backfield. Hope Cine is they guy we think he is, keep Harry and sign Duke Shelley. The other cornerbacks fill with draft picks or free agents. This team might have made it to the second round if we had a serviceable slot corner. Go find one and lets go

Reloaded and should be better defensively. Like way better. ( and now you can cut cut cut a lot of guys from last year. )

Heck, who knows.... Maybe Cine is the #1 safety if he doesn't get hurt..... there is always a chance!

At the time, tbh, I wasn't thinking safety even with him on the board. I get the understanding of the team not willing to take a safety analytically at 12.

I honestly had my heart set on Jordan Davis and was not going to be upset with a Jameson Williams pick.

Not on this forum, but I have stated numerous times when you are in the top 12, you don't trade out of the top 12 unless you are getting starting talent in return or a team is mortgaging their future for you. Its common every year after the top 12 players their typically is a falloff. Last year we just happened to land on 12, so the trading buffer is right there. Still in my feelings about not taking one of "my guys", dang you Kwesi.

We need to see it play out first. If we passed on a Micah Parsons type I would be furious, Kyle Hamilton meh..We have no idea what he would've done in our scheme as well. Well see what happens before we judge. Early returns are not looking good but I dont mind the idea with how bad of roster is defensively. You add Booth and Cine, im pretty sure most were pretty happy and it was deemed a good haul. Well see if Booth can ever stay healthy, which was a college issue and Kwesi took the risk.

Really good points there (Hamilton vs Cine). Despite Cine not starting I thought the pick was a good one considering the team needed to start preparing for life without the Hitman and the kid has some talent. Here's hoping for a good recovery from his injury.  

But can Cine be any good? We've seen plenty of players get thrown into the doghouse, and then when finally given the chance we see why. I think Cine has enough talent to overcome some problems, but he absolutely could bust outright.
