So, if the Vikings would part with three Rd 1 picks (2023, 2024, 2025), their 2023 3rd Rd pick, as well as Danielle Hunter to move up to #3, you'd think there would be an additional early Rd pick involved to move up one more spot to #2 overall (maybe a 2nd Rd pick in the future).

I'm not sure if there's a precedent for teams move up from the 20's inside the Top 5 in Round 1, but in Jan 2021, the Rams traded two Round 1 picks (2022 & 2023), a 2021 3rd Rd pick and QB Jared Goff to Detroit for QB Matthew Stafford. The difference is that Matthew Stafford was an established NFL QB with 12 yrs of experience and the Rams were able to get him for 2 seasons "on the cheap" (relatively speaking, as his cap hits in '21 & '22 were only $20m and $13.5m, respectively) vs. Will Levis, who is an "unknown" in terms of how he will perform in the NFL, with the tradeoff of having him on a cost-controlled rookie QB contract for 4-5 yrs.

And that's part of all this....there's SO much time from free agency, even the combine, to the draft..and SO little for the talking heads to talk about, they just keep out/rethinking themselves on what they think of these prospects. I can't imagine teams themselves going thru as much mental gymnastics because they're not expected to create content.

And often, where players are actually drafted are just where TEAMS had them ranked all along. What the media calls 'a fall' or 'overdrafted' is only by where THEY had them ranked.

That said, it would seem a HUGE overdraft for Levis to go ahead of Stroud or Young...but that's MY take, I'm just an accountant.

I really don't want to think about the cost there... I'm not against a trade up, but sending what would likely be our next 2 or 3 firsts to do it would be insane. I could see something like a Hunter/Z package deal allowing us to keep our draft capital, but even that leaves me with a sour taste and I doubt it would get us all the way up to 2...

and then taking Levis...

of all the QBs, that's the part that would surprise me the most. This is misinformation season, so we have to take all of this with a healthy dose of skepticism. We really don't have the capital to make that kind of move, and I just don't see Kwesi staking his career on that.

I'd much rather trade for Lance....or better yet trade up to the early teens if Levis/Richardson 'slide'..tho I've warmed to Hooker at 23, too.

3 days away now....to pull out an old Bush line, let's be prepared for some 'shock and awe'

Man, that compensation would be hard to stomach for an unknown especially with our holes on D which would actually be creating another hole by giving Hunter.

That seems less like an actual plan and more like "the mock draft simulator let me do this". While the actual trade itself seems borderline absurd, maybe his purpose was some points involved in that statement:
- Levis might be more highly regarded than Anthony Richarson
- The Vikings are likely to use future picks to make a move
- The Cardinals want to move down and what the price might be for other teams
And most importatnly
- You should pay money to use the mock draft simulator behind our pay wall (I'm not doing that)

It wouldnt cost that much and they wouldn't offer that lol at the very minimum if your including hunter it would take out the #87

I'm somewhat curious what Cousins' score is. He took it this offseason, did he not?

But that said, I don't really trust the leaks. The NFL has perfect knowledge on these results. Every GM knows this answer, so while the leak may or may not be accurate, it was only done to change outside perception.

Willis to Richardson comps are a little silly and lazy to me. First of all the actual size of the two. Richardson is 6'4 while Willis is 6'1..Richardson athletically has done stuff no other QB has ever done at the combine. Then you talk about actual reps, Richardson essentially only has 1 year as a college QB, he threw 64 passes the year before, and is two years younger than Willis was coming out. Richardson is a very raw prospect that a lot of his flaws are mostly due to lack of reps. Im not saying this kid is going to be a stud or wont be a bust, most of that is going to come down to him wanting to put in the work. But the comparison is very lazy. I would be shocked if he makes it out of the top 10 and id say 0% chance out of the top 15. I have a hard time seeing the Seahawks pass on him, hope the lions do, and I really cant see the Raiders passing as well.
