It would be a little silly to let him play out the contract and walk. If he isn’t the long term answer then we should work to trade him this year and begin the rebuild process while he has value. I understand he has a no trade clause so it would require trading him to a team he was willing to go to and who was willing to give him a longer contract. But that would be the way to go.
If not that then we should commit to him with a longer contract that gives him stability while giving us cap relief without pushing too much money into later years
At this point who cares? Fans are acting like a HOF replacement is a guarantee. Just roll with Mullens until the new guy is ready.
We can probably get Mond back too.
