Extend Cousins or ... ?

This. It's what made Keenum so successful that year. He had enough mobility to mask the weakness of that line. You give that Cousins and he is a MUCH better QB because he can simply duck out of pressure and buy an extra second to make that throw... We know Cousins can make the throw so to speak, but way too often he's got to make the checkdown because of the pressure he cannot avoid.

Now to be fair, I don't want a run first QB, which is what would scare me about drafting a guy like Richardson. Sure, I'll take a guy who is a passer that can run like Rodgers could in his younger days, but I those run first guys are for the most part fool's gold. As well, even if we win 4 games and end up drafting really high, I still think having some great line play in front of said new guy will matter a lot, even if said QB is not a statue. Last think you want is them developing PTSD.

Well, we got a more aggressive DC, which looks to be breaking the "30th rated defense" cycle...and decent ROG play would, by itself, break another...

...but, hilariously, people insistently repeating "trade/cut Cousins" over and over don't consider themselves insane... 

Suggesting something is different than trying something, just like making the same tired excuses over for the QB over and over again is different.

Cousins is off to the best start of any QB thus far. It’s literally the laws of physics that are beating us.

Maybe year 7 is the year you will finally get to stop making all the excuses for him?

It amazes me how many fans want to pin our issues on Cousins. Kirk is literally playing like a top 3 QB right now, the dude is throwing pin-point accurate passes a half second before getting absolutely destroyed. What the hell does it take for you people to see that our issues are everything EXCEPT Cousins? And I don't want to hear anything about - "but, but, but, the strip sack". Yeah, most QBs don't expect to get hit .9 seconds after the snap.

Look, I have mercilessly, and I mean MERCILESSLY railed on Kirk in the past, and deservedly so, because he seemingly couldn't lead a comeback to save his life, or didn’t exhibit anything remotely resembling leadership qualities. And when the game was on the line and the ball was in his hands, it was almost a guaranteed L. But after setting a record for the most 4th QTR comebacks in league history last year, that moniker no longer applies. That, and taking on a major leadership role for this team.

Our inept front office and coaching staff have forced Kirk to put his body through ABSOLUTE hell, and do you ever hear him voice a single, effing complaint about it? Nope! He just shows up every week and gives it everything he's got.

It's like you people think Kirk is supposed to overcome the entire team's deficiencies, when Patrick effing Mahomes couldn't even come CLOSE to doing that right now.

We have a coach that refuses to run an outside zone system, when that's all our lineman are capable of running, even in the face of having the worst rushing attack in the league....But he STILL refuses to make adjustments. And yet, somehow, when teams KNOW we're going to pass 75% of the time, Kirk is still able to move the ball up and down the field efficiently and effectively.

I realize we're going to have to replace Kirk sooner rather than later, and if they decide to do it in next year's draft, you're all going to get a better understanding of just how good he's playing right now, watching our first-year QB's struggles. I'm sure that will be especially true with the guy our dimwit FO decides to take.
