This simply isn't true. I'm far from "championship mindset", and I said 10-12 wins, get in the playoffs, and win a game or two. Build on that. Those were both fair and realistic, with running it back. That was the expectation. Went further? Where did we go?
Winning 13 games in the regular season and losing in the Wild Card round is not better than winning, say, 10 games and winning a game or two in the postseason. 10 games would've won the NFCN just the same as 13. We really needed to win in the postseason for this season to inspire confidence moving forward. Now, like it or not, we're just left with more questions.
Probably a real fun year to be a season ticket holder (up until that playoff game), but in the end no one will care that we won the division or 13 games this season. All people will remember was the beatdown in the playoffs by one of the worst teams in the playoffs.
