During his first few years, if he got even with the last defender, you knew it was a touchdown. Looking at the highlights now, no idea how he was that fast, being that big. Fun times. Simpler times.

Totally underrated is Harvin. I'm convinced he was actually the better athlete. Heck, I think Peterson said as much himself. Having those two in their prime was something. And guys like Winfield, Allen, the Williams Wall, etc.

...2009 will never not hurt.

2009 doesn't happen if the Vikings were tied down to an average QB, so why would anyone wish for Kirk during that time period?

Until we win it all, we have to learn to enjoy AND FREAKING APPRECIATE the good times with Moss, Peterson, and JJ. And that's what this thread is about.

I really liked the late 80's early 90's the best. That was my vote. I'd just like to add here that another reason I enjoyed it was there was a real actual fun rivalry going on with Da Bears. The whole Burns vs Ditka thing was awesome. Iron Mike with his. The Metrodome was only fit for roller skating so we put skates on the cheerleaders...freaking fun stuff. Fun rivalry not just the you ugly stuff we call rivalry now. (Green Bay sux and the Bears are ugly...ok still a little fun.) That total melt down when Ditka's team blew a 20 point 4th quarter lead to Denny's Vikes ended his relevance in the division. That and he lost Buddy. Ended a fun era for me. I remember being at a game the year after they won the SB I think where we hosted them and totally beat the crap out of them. Like 6 or 7 sacks and shut Payton down. They had the better team that year and humiliated us earlier that season but we handed them their @sses that day. I remember going into the stadium hoping we just didn't crap our pants and left pumped.

Ditka man I loved hating him.

If being a Viking fan was easy ~ everyone would do it.

Fun fact. The Vikings under Cousins have scored more points than the Bills under Allen. But then, Allen hasn't done anything either.
