We probably meet Minny in the playoffs the way were situated. We could wind up with 7 losses I'm figuring so we need either Seattle or Detroit to wind up with 8 losses because they both hold the tie breaker vs us.
There's a good chance for Seattle to go down this week vs KC. With the win over WFT if we beat Indy were in. Detroit has a chance to win their last 3. WFT plays S.F. this weekend so they should go down as well.
Were actually sitting pretty to make the tournament.

The bottom line is, we are in charge of our own destany. We should not require help
Win until we are in. It is that simple.

Bitter temperatures and weather rolling in and playing indoors is actually a good thing for the Giants…..of course the Vikings can score in bunches but Wink has to throw caution to the wind and blitz the entire game….and we need to have 20 play scoring drives. The Vikings can self destruct sometimes, we just have to hope that happens on Christmas Eve.
I say just go out and win and that will be a wrap because the Commanders aren’t beating the 49ers and the Seahawks aren’t beating the Chiefs. Giants pull this off Saturday and that’s a wrap. Our history in Minnesota doesn’t give me much faith though. 4th and 17 was a long time ago.
It'd be awesome if we could somehow move up in the seeding and go play TB.
Their Defense is open to the air in the to ( bottom10) in completion percentage .
Ours is in the top 3
Theirs is in the bottom 2 in yardage given up in the air
We are 19th
They are in the bottom 2 in Yards per attempt
We are 19th
They are in the bottom 12 in TDs given up in the air
We are 8th
They are in the bottom 4 in points given up
We are 14th
This is a winnable game for us.

Cousins wasted all his bullets last week and this is a game the Giants come in ugly and win ugly F'em
Bottom line is the NYGs need to score north of 25 points. They struggle to score 20 points per game.
I really dont see how they win this game. Last week the offense only scored 13 points. 6 points on two 50+ FGs.
They are not getting close to the endzone often enough. The D is a mix of big plays and giving up huge chunk plays in the pass and run game.

I wish we had ONE dude who could catch the damn ball, I wish bellinger was more involved and able to catch the ball.
Oh, for even just one more dude on offense...

This game depends on which Minny team shows up. It was never more apparent in last Saturdays Minny-Indy game the difference of play for this Vikes team.
Yes you can throw on this Vikes team, I hope we can take advantage of that. One of the reasons our defensive numbers don't look bad through the air is teams gash us with the run easier. Though the Giant pass rush could be an equalizer. The pass rush looked damn good vs WFT. It would be nice to see our DB's hold onto an int. once or twice during a game.
But lets face it the way our offense plays were lucky to score over 13-17 pts. were going to need to score pts to beat Minny. IMHO Cousins lights us up with Jefferson and Osbourne. To me this is a dress rehearsal for our playoff game. Same team, same venu.
This game if we lose isn't the one we need. If we can win fine then were in and probably wind up with 10 wins. But really we were lucky it didn't come down to the 2 pt try vs the Commies and possible OT.
Next week vs the Colts is the must win game and were in. If we lose to the Colts then all bets are off. If we beat Indy the most losses we can have is 7. We need Seattle and Detroit to have 8 losses to hold the 6th playoff slot.
But I'll be rooting my heart out for Big Blue just like every week.

This is not a winnable game!
they will need to score more than 25 points maybe more than 30.
I really dont see how this offense can get that done. The NYGs D will need to score twice or give the NYGs O field position inside the Vikes 15 a couple of times on top of the O scoring 20+ on their own

Yea we not scoring more than 24 points on offense. The defense is gonna have to play out of its mind to secure this victory. It would be nice to get a special teams touchdown or huge play to help out this anemic offense.
Run the ball and stop their passing game and it looks like we can eke another one out
HAVE TO STOP GIVING UP LONG YARDAGE ON KICKOFFS. This has become a perennial issue.

I have a hunch that they might run the ball down our throat with Cook.
The Vikes are good against the run but dreadful against the pass. We're going to need to beat them through the air.
Cook scares me a little as we aren't good against the run, but Cousins has always been a guy who struggles when pressured. So if we can keep the heat on him we should be able to keep him under control.
It's interesting to me that the Commanders were favored by 4.5 against us but the Vikes, who have a much better record, are only favored by 3.5.

Detroit shut down their rushing attack and let Cousins throw for almost 400 yards and beat them. The last three games the Vikings have given up huge passing and rushing yardage.
the have good WR's {jefferson might be top 3 right now]. Jackson is still out and the rest of our DB's are cast-offs and backups. That's the key match up. Game will be decided on turnovers.
The Giants have generally not fared well against the bruising NFC (former Central) North division teams over the last five or six years. The Vikings have been pretty brutal matchup (Vikings winning seven of the last nine and three in succession) and I recall Minnesota physically man-handling the Giants back in 2019.
For the Giants to have any chance to win on Sunday, they have to make up their mind to win a war of the trenches with physicality. I completely agree that the defensive line will need to make Cousins very uncomfortable in the pocket and the goal is no turnovers by Danny Dimes and the offense.
The Giants will have a difficult time in a stadium where they have been beaten to a pulp every time they've played there. Can they get it up for a street fight and, more importantly, come out of Minneapolis injury-free? I don't think they're quite yet there so I'm hoping they can keep it a one-score game and then anything is possible.

I think our best hope is that the Vikings come in off a huge emotional high from the Colts comeback and play "flat." Then we have a chance to score early and drag them down into the mud, figuratively speaking. We can't win a shootout. It has to be ugly.
Vikings have done a poor job at pass protection even though their Oline has good pff scores. 27th in giving up sacks, one spot better than the Giants. And while I don't believe the tale that the Giants' pass protection has "improved" (from 2.2 sacks per game last year to 3.1 per game - 3.7 over the past three games) there seems little doubt that the Giant pass rush has improved, from 2.0 sacks per game last year to 2.3 - and averaging 4.0 over the last 3 games as Thibs has emerged and they have all their starters actually starting. So I'm hopeful they can make Cousin's day miserable.
Cousins has 36% of his pass attempts at 10+ yards or more compared to Jones' 28%. 31 of his 40 sacks have happened when he's not blitzed. He's been blitzed 32% of drop backs. He's only scrambled 10 times, compared to Jones 47 times. The RG and LG positions have clearly generated the most pressure. He's the best QB in the league with being responsible for his own pressure at 5.5%, compared to Jones at 16.8%. 33 of his sacks have been at 2.5 seconds or more and his time to throw in that metric is 3.21 seconds. He's fifth most under pressure % of drop backs at 37%. Jones is second at 43.8%.
He's an experienced pocket passer QB. The pressure will have to come mostly from the base 4 up the middle so Williams and Lawrence will need to have solid performances. I'd like to see Thibs and Ojulari stunt for pressure on a few drop backs. They will need the extra DB in coverage.

"If the Vikings have one Kryptonite though, it's the NFC East. In 14 games this year, Minnesota is 1-2 against the NFC East and 10-1 against everyone else. In all three of the Vikings losses this year, they've surrendered at least 130 yards rushing, and that's a number the Giants easily hit thanks to Saquon Barkley and the fact that New York has one of the NFL's top rushing attacks.
The Vikings and Giants have combined for 18 one-score wins this year, so the only thing I know for sure about this game is that the winner is obviously only going to come out on top by one score.
The pick: Giants 23-20 over Vikings"

I'm shocked someone picked us to win!
That makes me nervous! Lol we are always better when we are picked to lose or maybe at least expectations are so low when we win it's a nice surprise!

Dalvin Cook is 5th in yards after contact with 746. 2 yards behind Barkley. Here is the directional for Cook.
And several mentioned wanting the game played outdoors, "the way football is meant to be played."
Too bad they don't play at Metropolitan Stadium in Bloomington the way they used to. Then we'd have some real football weather.
Now you're talking! Those were the best games of my childhood. They gave up the best home field advantage.
Agree 100%. Have to admit I was a Vikings fan when I was a kid. I barely knew the Giants existed in the '70s. Those Viking teams were pretty good. I liked their colors and because they played in the snow and the players had snotsickles hanging from their noses. It was awesome!
But they threw it all away (what'a little frostbite for the team?)
