It's so weird being a bit more neutral this season. These debates are much more amusing for me. Before, I was supposedly the leader of the Sunshine Club. Glad we've recruited some more members! It was exhausting always taking on the cry-baby-pee-pants by myself. lol. This year, I can't quite buy what the Vikes are selling though, but hopefully I can next year! I'll know more when we see how these next few games, though. For example: if we lose the next three, ... shoot me in the face! I've always been one to say, "First, win the division. Get in the playoffs and see what happens. Stay healthy and get hot at the right time." That was always me. And I can't freaking believe we're 12-3 and still alive for the first seed. But I don't think I've ever been so uninspired by a "good" Vikings team. And it's frustrating for me. Am I broken? Maybe. I wish I could put a little more trust in this team - and it's not like they haven't proven they can be trusted with winning an NFL-record 11 one-score games - but geez ... I just can't let myself go there this year and wonder "maaaybe?". But maybe this is the best for my mental health right now. Just go into it with low expectations and an open mind. What will be will be. Just think of this as the first step of the new regime (with good things to come). It's when I have expectations that my feelings get hurt. And the Vikings aren't going to hurt me THIS season.

...unless of course we play the Packers in the playoffs and...

For me football is part of my life, not my life, so I am able to enjoy a good game for its own sake. Even if my team wont win a SB. I know, not a championship mindset lol, but then what is all this hardware in my cave?!?

This! I've been more entertained this year than in a looong time but I still am unsure if the Vikings need a new helmet design:

or if the coaching staff really has tapped into a situational approach that has yielded many wins when heretofore we could be assured of a loss. I suspect it is a combination of the two. I don't expect the Vikes to go very far (if anywhere) in the playoffs, but it's been fun knowing that they have defied the odds enough that they just might win a game or two before ending a memorable season.

It's definitely been fun! Totally freaking exhausting, but still a lot of fun and good memories! One could say, we've definitely gotten our money's worth!

Almost 0 chance we play the Pukers in the 1st round. And even less of a chance we both win our 1st round matchups.

If you don't have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it over?

I'm far from being in the sunshine club myself. I tend to live in the gray in general. Not a fan of extremes. They're a pretty good team playing pretty similarly as the pretty good team I kind of expected before the season started. They're just winning a ton more games than I expected. Everyone knows this isn't normal and if KOC has somehow created some magic recipe for making this type of winning sustainable then he's the greatest coach of all time. The point is that I think we all know what this team is. Yet at the same time, they're 12-3 right now so I'll worry about next year next year. I think there are some things to build off of but one of them isn't trying to pull this off ever again.

The areas they need talent are pretty obvious, but the thing that I do like is that there is significant room for improvement in terms of execution. For now though, I'm gonna enjoy the ride. It's probably not going to end up how I would ultimately want it to but I can live with that.

I sort of consider this season a bit of a gift. It was questionable for them to take the path of 'running it back' and the hope was really that they could find the playoffs and maybe even eek out a division title. So they've given themselves a chance which is what they intended.
