All I know is during the draft party, I was like please don't draft Reagor. Jefferson was on my mock. I was like come on Philly I know you want Reagor and when they took him I laughed.
I don't believe Speilman/Zimmer knew anymore about JJ than anyone else either, despite what the propaganda video they circulated might suggest. If they knew JJ was going to be special, then I need them to explain Mike Hughes, Bradbury, and Jeff Gladney.
I mean there are going to hits and there are going to be misses. Jefferson was a phenomenal hit. I think part of the problem with Zimmer and Spielman is that they had different ideas about the roster. I would also add Ponder regarding Spielman. He took the shot and he got it wrong. Bradbury is not a total loss at this point because there is better talent around him. I know size wise that is still an issue regarding leverage. Gladney was a miss off the field because of his issues. It is absolutely tragic what happened to him, gone way too young. Hughes was argued as an injury concern but he seems fine with the Chiefs. They have gone through a lot of corners though including Alexander and Waynes. Zimmer got a lot of mileage out of being associated with Deion Sanders. Maybe there were things that got in the way of their objectivity in relationship to the players they chose. There are many possibilities
