28th in rush attempts. Ya think that might have something to do with the decline?
...and then in the 2nd half, FSU's "other" RB, Dalvin Cook, came in and blew the doors off the Cardinal defense and they smoked Louisville to win 42-31...
I know you've mentioned that Dalvin is a great blend of speed/power, but ever since that Halloween Even game in 2014, I always thought Jimbo - who we both know isn't the best offensive mind in College Football - played Dalvin perfectly with running Karlos Williams out there early, and then coming back with Dalvin in the 2nd half...
...and that's how I always thought Dalvin should be used: not as a bell-cow RB like Barkley or Zeke that carries the rock 25+ times a game, but as a 2nd half speedster or change-of-pace that can catch teams totally off-guard with his bursts.
I'm wondering if the now 28-yr old Dalvin is slowing down before the infamous "30-yr wall" that many NFL RB's seem to hit because we used too much tread on his tires early on, especiallly for a RB that wasn't ever meant to be a bell-cow...
...and that's mostly why I look for RB prospects in the Draft season that haven't been used for 2-3+ seasons as a bell-cow, because they've already used some of that tread...
