5th for a declining high priced RB who is coming off major shoulder surgery?
Yep, you have to wonder if he could have even passed a physical to complete the trade.
It's a year too late really. The mandate to run things back is something that is kinda regrettable. Last year was fun, but seeing Cook, Kendricks and Theilen leaving for nothing leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Had these guys been traded last year they could have got something for them. It wouldn't have been high picks, but some mid rounders.
This team really needs to shift to getting something for players who don't have a future with the team instead of riding it till the wheels fall off or you can't afford it and getting nothing for something.
But from everything the talking heads in media are saying is that falls back on the Wilfs. Supposedly the Wilfs wanted the team to run it back with the roster from 2021 this past season so they did. If you are a new gm you can’t tell the ownership no if that is what they want to do. You can voice your opinion and concern, but if you go against their wishes you won’t be employed with them much longer. I agree that we should have graded these guys the year before. I hope the wilfs start to realize this kk d of stuff. Belicheck was always great for a long time with trading some of his assets the year before they started falling off to get value for them. That is how this team should approach it instead of just riding it to the bitter end.
