What numbers?

Derrick Henry has 56 TDs in the past 4 seasons. 40 in the past 3.Dalvin has 30 and only 14 the past 2years.Dalvin has 47 in his career and Henry has like 72 in that time.

Henry also has 2 full 16 game seasons in the time Cook has been in the league. Cook has 0. I’m not sure why they are being compared because their production numbers are not similar.

Cook has 0 because he has one 17 game season, which I find quite ridiculous that you've omitted just because it's not 16.

It's looking more and more like Cook might be staying but how much is Kwesi willing to pay for the RB position in 2023?

The internet is flooded with rumors of the Vikings trading Cook, Za'Darius Smith, and or Danielle Hunter during the draft. Wouldn't that be something?

TDs as an individual metric is a terrible way to grade a player. I'd rather look at them in terms of offensive production personally as TDs will get spread around and can come on the ground or via pass. 

My issue with Cook was all the runs for very short or negative yardage. He led the league in that start. Part of that was on KOC. Part of that was on scheme fit. Part of that was on Cook. Yes, I do like the explosiveness/home run threat, but I'd rather have an offense where the running game is getting 4-5 yard chunks on a consistent basis vs much shorter carries and with the occasional longer run to even it out. I like those longer runs, but those shorter ones stall out a lot of drives in the interim. And goodness, but other teams seem to be able to do it to us consistently. KOC hit the nail on the head when he talks about how much easier it is when you are in a 2nd or 3rd in short situation. You have the whole playbook to work with. Defenses have a lot more to defend against. That's what a balanced attack does. 

Will Mattison/Chandler/draft/UDFA fix that? I don't know. I do think, however, that the running game set the offense back way more than people realize. Yes, that was not all Dalvin's fault. I do think Kwesi and KOC understand that, which is why Oliver in particular was signed. But that's also why I suspect Cook won't be with the team in 2 weeks. Hopefully, part of that change also comes with KOC realizing his own contributions to the flaws of our running game, because he was part of the problem too. 

The most telling thing about Dalvin Cook currently and the trouble we presumably are having trading him comes through on social media. That ESPN Fowler report about us moving him before the draft made its rounds on Twitter pretty heavily. In searching Dalvin on Twitter afterwards it became clear the only fan base that has any interest in Dalvin is the Dolphins(who have little cap or draft capital). Any other fan base I see comment is, “well maybe if he’s cut”. Such a telling indication especially with his name recognition, past production, and even sillily enough being a top fantasy guy for years.

I’m under the belief now that they’ll try to trade him before/during the draft and if unsuccessful will just cut him with a post 6/1 release.

Henry was also used a LOT more than Cook in goal line situations because of his size, so TDs is a misleading metric.
