What They're Saying...
My first inclination was Minny to win in a fairly close game. My outlook changed. I'm thinking our D is going to come out and play well to erase the bad taste of last week. I see us winning a nail biter.
Dallas wins....this is still the NFL
What does that mean?
Vikings come home riding high after a crazy win on the road against Buffalo. Cook goes over a hundred and Dak does too little too late.
Vikings 26
Cowboys 20
Vikings 26
Cowboys 20
I'm calling it now..... run defense gives up over 250 and the offense stalls. Easy win by the Vikes.
I don't even want to say what I think will happen... because if Boys lose this week, everything changes.
And I KNOW the Boys will lose this week, though I don't think it will be as bad as most people think....maybe like 31 to 16 or so....but definitely a big ole L
But....I'd rather not even make a prediction, because it's just too bad to think about.

I was pissed off about last week, but everything tells me the Cowboys are a better team despite their bad showing.
Better offense (not better receiver, offense as a whole). Much better defense (knock on wood, if they play bad this week i'm stripping their title of a top 5 defense.
Better defense, better defensive line, better corners, better qb. worse coach.
My heart tells me the Vikings win cause i'm pissed off...my brain tells me the Cowboys should win 33-23.
Also people, do not be mad if we pass the ball a lot this game. Their secondary is riddled with injuries, we should still run it but yeah.

Drove all the way up here for the game, hopefully the Cowboys. Unfortunately, they have the better QB by a pretty large margin, Vikings will win.
Dallas being favorites over an 8-1 Vikings on the road, brings a LOT of pressure on Dallas.
I see this game as a MUST win, because if Dallas loses two in a row, I can see this team implode.

I can see why Dallas is favorite....1) Dallas is desperate 2) Vikings are in for an emotional let down. They can't keep up this on-the-edge games for 10 weeks.
If we want to win, they better be balling from the opening whistle til the last. Any lulls and it will probably snowball.
I keep wanting to find reasons to believe in the 2022 Dallas Cowboys. Defense is spectacular, Parsons is all universe, 4-1 with Cooper Rush...but despite all that, concerns keep popping up that I cannot ignore. Mostly from the same two sources, Dak Prescott and the coaching staff.
On the flip side, I keep looking for reasons to not believe in the Minnesota Vikings. Kirk Cousins, typical Vikings crashes of the past, a Dalvin Cook injury away....but here my problem is that they're 8-1 and not going away, finding new ways to win games they normally never win.
Both running games will feed. Star receivers will make plays when put in a position to do so. Each defense will have their moments in the sun. This game is coming down to two things:
1. Will Kevin O'Connell outcoach Mike McCarthy when it matters most?
2. Dak or Cousins, who makes the dumber mistake down the stretch?
I'm in the picks at one of the bars in town. I have no clue which team to pick, I might choose the Vikings there, just because most everyone else will and then at least it won't bite me in the ass if I'm wrong. Here, I'm going to say it's a 26-24 game, but damned if I know which will be which.

Vikings 41-17.
They might get 500 yards against this sh*tpile defense.

Cowboys will be very lucky to win 3 more games this season, right now I believe they are easily headed for a 3 game losing streak.
Dak is going to leave a trail of coaching casualties before his career is done........
Green Bay came into our game averaging 17 pts a game. Last night they got....17 pts
Our defense played like complete sh*t against them.
Right now our defense is starting to have a 2020 vibe about them. They need to right the ship.

How the hell are we favored this week? They look like a better team and it's at their place?
I don't get that at all.
I don't get that at all.
It's because the Vikings have been barely scraping along most of the year without a single impressive win until last week, which was an emotional watershed moment type of game that gets lots of hype and often leads to let downs the next week.
They beat the terrible Saints by 3 because the Saints bounced a FG off the upright on the last play of regulation that would've sent it to OT.
They were down 24-14 to Detroit going into the 4th at home.
Down 22-21 late in the 4th at home against the Bears.
Struggled to beat the Dolphins 3rd string QB at home.
Down 17-7 in the 4th against the Skins.
Vegas knows something, and that something is that the Vikings are nowhere near as impressive as their record implies.

It was an impressive win, but also one where they were down double digits for like 75% of the game and needed a 4th and 18 miracle with about a 2% probability to win.
They were dominated most of that game but just had a miraculous ending, it's still impressive because Buffalo is arguably the best team in the league, but Vegas always sees the forest through the trees and knows games like that are outliers that often carry over to the next week in terms of a letdown.

I don't think there's much separating the two teams and one is coming off an embarrassing implosion that they should've won while the other is coming off an emotional high in a game they should've lost.
I'm not at all confident in our run defense anymore because it requires that side of the ball to be honest with themselves and completely shift how they're approaching games, but with that setup, two relatively even teams with one coming off an embarrassment (i.e. they should be very focused/motivated) while the other is coming off an emotional high, that profiles as a potential "surprise" win for the team coming off the embarrassing loss.

That's the thing though. It's not just about being an underdog versus favorite. Those lines made sense between playing against Brady and then playing with our unheralded backup QB.
But we're now 6-3 coming off a bad loss to a bad team playing against an 8-1 team in our 2nd straight road game.
It doesn't make sense that we're favored. It's almost as if Vegas is trying to make it look like easy money and baiting people into taking Minnesota.

Quinn needs to unleash Parson again. I'm very disappointed in Quinn for sticking with that passive use of Parsons the entire game vs Green Bay. Also, fix the DL alignments. Make stopping the run the priority this week. The Vikings are in the bottom 10 in rushing yards per game but the Cowboys defense has shown that even marginal RBs can carve them up. So stop the run first, then hope playing outside the 1PM slot is enough to throw off Kirk D. Cousins.
Not having Barr, someone who knows how to be in the right place at the right time, was probably more of an issue than we realized at the time.
I think the main reason they had Parsons playing "off-ball" in that game was to reduce the wear and tear on his body, but I wouldn't discount Barr being out as a secondary reason for it due to a lack of trust in Clark/Cox.

This is exactly what a lot of teams are aiming for today. It’s an interesting strategy, a bit counterintuitive, to purposefully be soft against the run but prioritize stopping chunk plays. But when it works it works really well!
I think I read an article recently suggesting this was largely responsible for the drop in scoring we're seeing across the league. Pass rushers have gotten significantly better and defenses are more content to just try and stop big plays. By taking away the big plays, you force offenses to execute near perfection over and over and over again, which is obviously tough to do.
Yes! Cover 2 defenses have taken the league by storm, and I’m very interested to see how offenses eventually begin breaking it. So far it seems like speed is a big one (Chiefs, Dolphins)
You just don’t know after last week. Hopefully the crazy win last week gives the Vikings some unjust confidence and the cowboys are able to capitalize. Should be a fun game either way. I can’t take back to back losses though.
I'm terrified that Dalvin Cook is going to feast like Aaron Jones did.
This team wins that game last week without those penalties. Defense should and will step up this week. If we don't beat ourselves, I can see us winning. It should be a fun game!
This is the type of game Dallas wins handily right as fans are on the edge of losing it.
Thoughts on their thoughts?!?!
