What are your thoughts on the season so far? What were you right/wrong about?
It can be about the Vikings or any other team.
A couple surprises for me:
1. I would be lying if I said anything about the Vikings truly surprises me, but I suppose I'm most surprised that the Vikings' offense isn't more in sync by now. I expected more from, well, everyone not named Justin Jefferson. And I guess, I thought even he would have more touchdowns. But maybe Hockenson is the perfect guy to open things up! *fingers crossed* Oh, I thought Joseph would be much better. Not Tucker-level good or anything, but more reliable. I was fooled by the training camp hype! I still like him, but dang, I had high hopes we finally found our kicker. Now, doubts have been creeping in. Get it together, Greg!
2. I thought it was INSANE that the Seahawks moved on from Wilson. I knew that there was some beef there between Wilson and Carroll, and some locker room drama, but, I thought they made the dumbest decision possible. I thought if they were going to move on from Wilson, they should move on from both. Start fresh! If they were going to keep one, it should've been Wilson. I LOVE Wilson, but what the heck?! I'll definitely own this one as being 100% WRONG! Now Carroll is in the discussion for Coach of the Year. Shocking! Wowsers!
Tying into that, holy cow, Seahawks! What the heck 2.0: Geno Smith?! For most of the offseason, most "experts" were saying the Seahawks were going to be horrible, and they'd be in the running for the #1 pick. Um? I remember one person saying, "Nah, they're building something special in Seattle. You can just see/feel it." But everyone else pretty much crapped on Seattle. So, how this season has played out so far for them has been pretty interesting. Add in the total SUCK that is the Broncos' offense with Wilson, and, just wow, two big shockers. And what a waste of a great defense there in Denver. Boo! Someone should check in on the Broncos fans. I bet it ain't pretty!
Who thought the New York teams would both be watchable? I knew the Jets had a good draft, but dang. Winning this much AND upsetting the Bills? We see you! The Giants? It's pretty much universally accepted that they have one of the worst rosters in the NFL, and they're doing their thing. Daboll is something else. Those teams have had a rough go of it for the last decade, so, it's cool to see them winning. Something new and exciting!
The season is crazy! Who knew the Rams, Bucs, Packers, Broncos, Raiders, Colts, Cards, etc. would suck so badly? Think Rodgers and Adams call and cry to each other at night? The Pack have dropped five in a row, and the only wins the Raiders have are against the Broncos and Texans. Big yikes! Who knew NFC Least would now be NFC Beast? And did anyone expect Miami to look so good with the nerdy goofball, McDaniel? And now Tua is in the MVP discussion?
