Holy buckets, yardage wise we had a total of 234 yards to Miami's 458! I'm sure Reignman has a stat on how often you lose when the other team out-nets you by 220 yards.
Since 1960 (through 2021), teams were 79-898-5 (.084) when they were out-netted by 224 or more yards. Only once in the last 29. The Texans did it to the Titans last year despite being out gained 420-190, but the Titans had 5 turnovers. Teams are also 1-34 in the playoffs when it happens, Titans over Ravens in 2019 the only time, so we better get things cleaned up.
The Vikings have only been out-netted by 224+ 28 times, and they're now 4-24 (.143) in those games, so better than average. 2005 was the last time we won, 24-21 over the Giants and Eli Mannings 15 interceptions (405-137).
The Dolphins last lost such a game in 1988, to the Jets, 8 straight wins, and it's only the 2nd time they've lost (now 23-2).
In 2000 the Ravens beat the Jets 34-20 despite being out-netted by 382 yards (524-142), thanks to the Jets 6 turnovers. Dilfer was 11/25 for 99 yards, while Testaverde threw for 481. The Ravens only had 5 first downs the entire game, but chipped in a pick-6 and 2 punt return TD's. It was the final game of the season and the loss knocked the Jets out of the playoffs. Ravens went on to win the Bowl with that historic defense.
