Vikings will be dehorned by the Lions. I will take the Lions by 10 points.

The key for the Lion's win is stopping Jefferson. Jefferson had 300 yards receiving last year over 2 games against us. AG needs to stop him cold with Okudah man on man. I rank Okudah equal to Slay who was very effective stopping Jefferson last night. If AG has the defense play zone; Jefferson will eat us up. Once Cousins is denied access to Jefferson he becomes less than adequate at QB and begins forcing the ball into coverage like he did last night.

Have to get after Cousins. Was clear he struggled with pressure and the blitz. Think I read Packers didn’t blitz once in week 1. Obviously easier said then done, Vikings will make some adjustments and be ready for it I’m sure. You saw some of the cracks last night though and Glenn has done a good job of dialing up blitz packages through first 2 games

That defensive shell scheme is horrendous 😳

Have to admit this team played their behinds off v Washington. The Offense looks very nice. So I hate picking the Lions to win on the road, or to win period. But I think after watching Philly manhandle the Vikings.. Lions could win this game. Lions 42 Vikings 34 in a barnburner.

Unless Vegas expects the Lions to destroy the Vikes.

The Lions are tops in the NFL is points scored. Up there in rushing. I would be surprised if they didn't lead in YPC average. Minnys defense is not good. That team looked really bad vs Philly. The Lions played Philly tough and Philly is a really really good team.

I expect the line to come down as well, but I think we as use to the Lions being fools gold. They have yet to play on the road, but this is a short flight with another dome team. I am feeling pretty good about this one. What gives me confidence is that run game. The Lions are able to do something you don't see too often, run the ball at will and I don't see Minny stopping that.

I just bought my tickets for the game. Vikings fans dumping their tickets already saves me some money.

It’s all going to depend on our defensive line. If they can generate pressure the way they did against Washington in the first half they’ll rattle cousins and take him off his game. If they can’t he’ll tear our defense apart.

Cousins looked awful. I think they are going to have a hard time stopping our O.

the Eagles defense is legit. Slay could’ve had four interceptions. Cousins QBR was around 30 going into a garbage time drive and finished at 50

Does this change anyone’s view on the Lions and Goff they had after game one? The Lions might have hung the most points the Eagles will give up all year

We hung 35 on Philly.

They got 7.

The Queens defense held them to 24.

If our defense was just that much better, we would have won.

I know Duce is just as unhappy about that as Glenn.

vikings beat the pack, who for the past decade have been strongest in the division… but those cheese wheels are looking wobbly without a receiving corps

after 10 minutes of MNF I immediately took that +7 on the lions while it was available

If we can beat the Vikings next week, the following three games are very winnable…Seattle, Pats, and Cowboys. How awesome would 5 - 1 feel?

I do feel this game is win-able. Much more so than I did last Saturday before our game and before they played on MNF

That said I don’t think it’s a given we win just because the Vikings played bad last night. They went into a amped up Philadelphia stadium on Monday night football and they were the sacrificial lambs. Expect them to look much better against us at home.

I’d expect to see a lot of Dalvin Cook in the next game. He’s well rested.

Besides losing in embarrassing fashion before a national audience on MNF, I’d expect the Zvikings will not have forgotten they were the first team to lose to the Lions last season.

All that said, this isn’t the 2021 Lions.

We definitely are not going to sneak up on the Vikings this year. Not only did they lose to us in the 2nd matchup, they needed a miracle finish to beat us in the 1st game. We took the lead with 37 seconds left, and Cousins had to pull a Matt Stafford to get them in position for a 54 yard game winning field goal.

I’m glad we have a bunch of former players who will be extremely clear to our guys that we are going to get the Vikings best punch right out of the gates. They didn’t just get embarrassed like we did against the Eagles last year. Theirs came on national television. They will be out for blood and our staff knows it.

I said it before ,we’re not perfect but we’re as good as anyone in the division. And can beat any of them. I like this roster better then most in this division. I think Dan and company beat the vikes and make a statement. These guy’s are starting to believe and have confidence I think we’re the most dangerous team in the division.

I said it in the Monday night thread but if the Vikings only get Cook 10 touches they are doing us a MASSIVE favor.

One thing I remember Richard Sherman saying is that its easier to communicate in the secondary in road games than home games.

I can see us winning, I can see us losing and covering the spread and I can see us losing by significantly more than the spread.

No idea which will happen for this game. But my guts says we get the “Home Vikings” that beat the Packers and we lose and that it is right around the spread…which isn’t gonna get me to put money on it

When you look at Green Bay’s first game this year (Vikings, 23-7) and last (loss 38-3 to NO), you might see a common theme and devalue that stunning win for Minnesota a little bit.

Minny is coming home to play the Lions. Off a very bad beat. I expect them to come out on fire.

The Lions have to weather the storm to start and wear them down.

I don’t think there’s many teams in the league better equipped to handle a team like that though.

We’re the type of team that will come out and smack you in the mouth no matter how you’re feeling about the game.

I think Minny is on the cusp of transition. A lot of aging foundational players. I would like to see us whoop their ass like literally just maul them. I think we might be a good bit more physical. I’m cautiously optimistic. Would of course be a massive win.

I’m always so torn on games like this.

Yes, Lions came out and handled business. Have to clean some things up but also have to feel very good about their performance heading into a division game.

When you are high on life from a win and the other team is ready to jump off a bridge from a beat-down, it absolutely has and can be a recipe for disaster.

Its never easy playing in Minnesota.

Battle to stay in first place.

They whooped the Packers at home.

I think this will be a dog fight.

They’ll never beat us in the fist fight.

They need to have big plays on offense

They are lucky to catch us this early in the season and that we’re banged up.

This will be a close one, but when they come to our house later in the season, we absolutely BOMB them.

We will get 4-5 wins out of the division this year…and 1 or 2 of them will be Purple.

I have to admit this is the first time that things have gone exactly how I predicted…but they are.

Eagles and Bills are the only ones I had as “for sure” losses

We are going to blow some of the bad-to-average teams out, this year.

The rest of the division will start drafting differently, because they’ll have to deal with Detroit.

For the first time since Barry, other teams in our division will be drafting personnel and employing strategies that can deal with the OL and DL that we’ll be bringing to town.

Look for us to eventually get a RB in the mold of Javonte, especially if Swifty gets hurt again.

I know this is sort of extreme woo-woo to many, but our team is going to start being a lot more healthy from all of the alpha energy and winning around them, as their faith shifts more and more, we will become more healthy…more dominant…

The NFL is so fluid from year to year that, yes, Minnesota can have another bad week. The Lions offense matches up well against the Vikings, IMO, so that’s a start.

If any coaching staff can avoid a letdown game after a big win, it’s our coaching staff.

Our guys will be ready to play.

I waffled on this one before the season. Now, it’s still a nail biter but I give the edge to the Vikes. Always a pessimist I guess. Eagles exposed a lot of stuff the Lions would want to take advantage of. Gives them a chance to rectify some of it. Vikes have two weeks of tape, they’re going to stack the box and force Goff to pass for the win.

The Chat is going to be ugly. Lions are still going to take checkdown for 3 &4 yards. But those can combo to first downs, move the chains, keep the clock running. That’s the Lion’s bread and butter.

With nail biters, I give the home team the edge. Very slight. This will probably be a field goal game at the end to win it.

I was wrong last week. I wait hoping to be proven wrong again.

This feels like a letdown game for Detroit and a pride game for Minnesota.

Losing four straight in Minny burns my arse to no end. Always hated them more GB & Chi., going back to Tark. To win there, this week, would really bring a smile to this old fart’s face.

Cousins is like a box of chocolates....You never what you're gonna get....Monday, Minnesota got the bad box.

Cousins and the Vikes are an every other Sunday type team. Frankly, I wish we would face them after a week 1 type performance.

Good news is, the win the Lions got was the last game they played, though Cousins still lit it up. Seems like a game that could be a shoot out, but the Lions have not put up a lot of points in Minnesota over the last couple of decades.

The takeaway here is people get that liquid courage from the slightest taste of Vitamin W.

I'm a little nervous about this game. The Vikings just had their ass handed to them and are playing at home. This is our fist road game. A win would be awesome but I'm just hoping they don't get blown out.

There will be great games, there will be sh*t games, and he will assuredly sh*t the bed in the playoffs.

they run that shell D with no adjustments and the lions walk out 45-10. I have never seen a team refuse to adjust, even the lions who I always accuse of late adjustments make changes but not minny last week! they had a plan and no matter how poorly it was working they were not going to change.

This week we will see if the Lions are who we thought they were, who we hope they are or maybe, who they really are
