Cine was tasked with picking up a different system than what Georgia ran. Bynum was ahead of him. And then Cene got hurt. But wasn't the primary reason for drafting him to replace Harrison Smith when he eventually retires and hopefully goes to the Hall of Fame? And Lewis is a different type of player than Camryn anyway. In theory, they should end up complimenting each other well in the future.
Cine was expected to pass Bynum at some point, or at the very least play in some 3 safety packages. I thought the consensus was more on the side of Cine filling a need in the secondary since Bynum had only started 2 games... and Smith was restructured to where he is most likely back in 2023, so then in that scenario Cine doesn't start until 2024. Not exactly a good strategy, considering we had the #12 pick at one point.
We need to be patient, yes, but I think our Spielman PTSD is kicking in because this is one-for-one how many years went, including last year.
