JUST ONE OLD MAN'S OPINION...

1. Dont suck.

2. the whole "hostile environment" thing is blown out of proportion...it really is. 90% of fans yell and scream the first drive, MAYBE the first 2. Then they are either staring at their phones or shoving nachos into their pieholes. Just get through the first 1/3 of the first qtr and you are fine.

3. Punch first...like you did last week. Punch then punch again. That start vs TTFW last week was not only very JOOMO righteous...it set the tone for the game. Be a rock star...enjoy the stage.

4. Dont play scared...remember scared was Zimmer...that gloom is gone. You piss on scared. Let it rip baby!!

5. All starts with Cook. Get him involved early and often. The Lions RB D. Swift was running through some massive holes vs Philly. If you get the Eagles worried about the Cooker's legs, the JJ hammer will be wide open.

6. Get Irv Smith involved...he can b a great weapon.

7. BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR BLITZING OF Hurts!!...FFS, the Lions tried that and it blew up in their face. You only had to blitz Rodgers 4 snaps. You can get pressure with only the d-line....dont over pursue.

8. Keep Kirk focused...there will be negative plays. Move on from them. Kick them in the nuts on the next play. A confident Kirk is always the Vikings best option.

9. USE CINE or ASAMOAH TO SPY HURTS...Lewis Cine & Asamoah are fantastic ball tracking players. Both are perfect in the spy role. Use them there. Freelance and kick ass.

10. Last but not least. On the road in prime time...you guys gotta keep your cool. Keep your wits about the job at hand. DO NOT get all "full-tilt boogie" out there. (Oldie but goody for you Darren Campbell LOLOLOL). No matter what happens...take a deep breath, intense but poised, you know your job. Trust the KOC plan and trust your fukn eyes and the player next to ya. Walk through them and execute. Beat Philly, hop the plane, bourbon, cigars, Zeppelin and f-bombs all the way home. 2-0 homies. Make us proud...

I'm very curious about this one. Hurts was beating the Lions to the edge, he wasn't running inside a lot. I remember on a few occasions in the preseason (camp and game), "wow, Cine covered a lot of field on that play". Watching Hurts pull it down and run, it seems like Cine would be the perfect player to take away throwing lanes and get to Hurts on the edge (Hurts never seemed to want to escape up the middle).

If Cine is in there I'll be excited to see the chess match.

Both teams will be trying to attack the weakness of both defenses, which is stopping the run.

What is the highest combined rushing total in a game over the past 10 years? This game has the potential to beat it.

Hopefully KOC has some wrinkles lined up, but I could see this being a very high scoring affair.

I am really hoping Asamouh is a spy in this game. Wouldnt hurt to have 1 more run support up close to the line. I think AJ will have his way with the Vikings regardless.

My only hope is that TEs tend to take longer than other positions to develop.

We might see them again in the playoffs, so it could be an early test. More importantly, lockup a potential tie-breaker so we don't have to return to Philly.

I would like to add just one more JOOMO ... get off my lawn .. no wait, I mean finish the freaking game!!! Teams are blowing huge leads all over the place, and I didn't like the way we finished last week. That was some Zimmer-like coasting in the 2nd half, and I think we got lucky the Packers couldn't capitalize or get anything going. Boot on the neck for 60 minutes! If they're serious about changing the culture, finishing is the one thing this team has been terrible at for a very long time.

I don’t think it was that bad. The process was better than the results. Look at the Vikings four drives of thr second half:

Drive 1
Runs: 1
Passes: 3
Result: drive stalled by a questionable offensive pass interference on Jefferson on an aggressive pass down field.

Drive 2
Runs: 2
Passes: 3
Result: throw was too short on a 3rd and 6, but the play calls did have at least 1 short pass instead of a run. A false start made the conversion more difficult than it needed to be.

Drive 3
Runs: 5
Passes: 6
Result: Multiple 20 yard passes. Then from goal to go the Vikings called 1 run and 2 passes (both incomplete). The passes at the end just missed. This effectively traded 1:20 of game time for 2 shots at a TD, a very aggressive approach with 7:03 on the clock and a 2 score lead.

Drive 4
Runs: 7
Passes: 0
Result: successfully converted a 1st down, made the Packers use their timeouts while burning 2:43 off the clock. Effectively ended the game when Jordan Love came out for some practice throws.

So that's two drives with clearly aggressive calls (first and third drives), one that I'd call middle of the road with a mix of runs and conservative throws, and one that successfully salted the game away. The score totals fall off, but I think that was more missing a few passes at critical moments than a conservative strategy.

, but what happens when it doesn't? The Ravens happen. The Browns happen. The Raiders happen. The Rams and Lions almost happen. You don't need to retreat to The Happening Bunker™ if you keep your foot on the gas. I mean what's a safe lead anyway? 35-14 in the 4th quarter? *whistle*

I think what a lot of these teams demonstrated yesterday was it's tough to get going again once you take your foot off the gas. Last season Drew Bunting rightfully kept pointing out how the Vikings could never maintain or build on momentum, so a culture change should involve maintaining momentum and finishing games. If it means running up the score, then run up the effing score lol. In fact I'd love it if this team adopted that attitude. Then we can hand out a weekly Keith Brookings award to the opponent who whines about it the most. That's a whole lot better than wondering how we blew a 2 TD lead.
