Reignman and Krauser like this

Everyone: I think it's pretty clear. Stefon Diggs showed up and made Josh Allen really good.
Reality: Josh Allen was looking pretty good before Diggs got there, Hurts still has major questions to answer
I agree with your point that Diggs was not the whole reason why that happened, but it was a big one. I don't expect Hurts to have a meteoric rise like Allen did in Year 3, but I do think his passing numbers will improve having a top 10 WR to throw to, replacing the targets that would have went to Quez Watkins/Jalen Reagor.
Games 1-5: 5td / 7int
Games 6-15: 15td / 2 int (he mostly sat out game 16)
Around that same time frame, Allen's completion % by game started going into the 60's (sometimes even 70's!) with some regularity; before that he had usually been in the 40's and 50's.
In retrospect, it took an off season and the hype of Diggs arrival for people to take note.
Going over Hurts 2nd year for the Purple Path forward article I was specifically looking for that kind of uptick. I haven't seen that same type of change suggesting he's about to be the next Josh Allen. I'm sure Hurts' totals will be better with be better with AJ Brown, but even in that 38 point explosion he was still just a 56% passer. Right now the eye test matches what those stats are telling me - Hurts is still quick to pull it down and run and libel to have a good number of inaccurate throws.
The running gets him to an acceptable performance level, but I'm not ready to crown him as the next Josh Allen.
