Stafford and Flacco are not great. And they won. Cousins could too, and he would be remembered very differently if he won and played well.
I think a better comparison for if this guy could win one so could Cousins would be Brad Johnson. Though Cousins is likely far statistical better. Brad knew how to work his cards to maximize team chances and was rewarded with a long career and a ring.
It's amazing how Matthew Stafford got a free pass for over a decade when all is everyone wants to say is that wins and losses is a QB stat. (And it's not) but why is there such a different standard from one player to another?
If Kirk Cousins brings a Super bowl to Minnesota he's far and above better than Matthew Stafford who I think is an average quarterback at best and 1 of the 10 worst or so to ever win a Super bowl. Last year Super bowl from a quality standpoint with two of the worst teams ever in the same game. Funny thing is I wouldn't have been shocked if the Rams won last year with Jared Goff at QB considering how piss poor the NFC was and how they got to play the Bengals in the Super bowl.
