If Kyle Sloter was signed, would you be concerned about job security?
If he was cut in Minnesota because it was too stressful for Cousins, why was he cut in Detroit, or Chicago, or Las Vegas, or Jacksonville?
Geez, it's like starting QBs in the NFL are all some kind of fragile-pysched China Dolls just collapsing under the pressure of the Almighty Kyle Sloter coming in to put the fear of losing their jobs into their heads.
Here is something you all know, but never seem to actually accept. It NEVER mattered who Kirk Cousins backup was, because Kirk Cousins was NEVER going to lose his job.
Not for one iota of a second did Kirk Cousins care if Trevor Siemian, Kyle Sloter, Bo Levi Mitchell, Jake Browning, Nate Stanley, or Kellen Mond was his backup due to fear they would supplant him. Maybe he does like Sean Mannion more than the rest, as a friend, another veteran in the QB room and almost as another coach on the sideline. He certainly didn't raise any public stink when Mannion was cut last year though. He didn't fret and worry that a moderately more competent guy in Nick Mullens was brought in to be his backup last year. Why? Because he was NEVER going to lose his job.
I guarantee you all, this mythos of Kirk Cousins fearing his backup is a figment of the imagination of guys like Kyle Sloter, who has lots of time to imagine different things, since his job now seems to be breaking down film of immensely more talented QBs than himself and tweet his grievances than he never got a fair shot with any of the 26 or so franchises that have had him in their facility at one time or another. And I can't believe that takes up too much of his very valuable time.
